i was just looking through the player money list, is had thomas engert at 56000 and some change. says he only won 25,000 for the challenge of champions, i could be mistaken but wasn't that 50,000? that would move him up the list quite a bit.

thanks

You are correct. The men's challenge of champions is a 50,000 winner take all event. The women's challenge of champions is a winner take all 25,000 event.

Mike, I know people have thanked you for the job you do with this site in the past but I just wanted to let you know again that I truly appreciate it, as do many others. When people seek out information on a new interest they frequently turn to the net, and anyone looking for info on pool is likely to come across your site. Having a website that profesionally presents so much information and resources on the game and sport is invaluable to the growth and progress of the game. I feel that your site has an impact on par with ESPN in terms of exposing people to the game, and I say that after personally speaking with many newbies who became acquainted with pool after doing a google search on the game or a player and coming across your site.

thanks mike

Thanks Henho. We all want this game that we love so much to grow and flourish. I only hope that somehow the site helps that happen.

Yeah, great job, guys!

If and when people see that there's money to be made in pool, then they wll come.

Just a suggestion: maybe we can highlight total winnings by player based on the money list. a sort of comparative summary. for example,

rank player name total winnings 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001
1 efren reyes US$1.75M
2 earl strickland
3 johnny archer

etc.

btw, what's the money list based on? does it include every tournament in the planet or do you have to depend on someone (like the tournament director) sending you info? can people volunteer information?

Mike,

You are definitely a positive impact on the game that we love so much. I don't want to get ahead of myself- you never know when a scandal involving an intern, a cigar and a load on a dress will mar a great career( )!- I would be less than surprised to see your great work land you in the HOF.

Your contribution is HUGE. Also greatly appreciated.

Renegade, the money list is based on all of the tournaments that I get info on. That includes just about every regional tour event out there, as well as every major that takes place. Yes, I will gladly accept info from any event out there. Just as long as I get the complete payouts.

Thanks,

Mike

I'll second that, thanks Mike! AZ Billiards is the closest thing to a daily newspaper on Pool, I'm glad to have it.

I think we can all contribute too. If someone is going to an event, maybe they can call/email details to Mike. Maybe someone can start a "Who's gonna be at XXXXX" thread.
