Auctions ending this morning. Way To cheap

An hour or so to go the Josey is there.

I can't stress enough how nice the "cam cue" is and his customer service is second to none. This cue should be a minimum of $650.

Ebay

I don't think you will have anything to worry about, from what I have noticed about Ebay is that the last 5 minutes is when bids really start going up,people will sit and watch an item till the end before they will bid on an item.I think you will do fine and the cam will come up quite a bit more,,,Noel

Well, this only true if you have an hot item. In most other cases...it not the case. It appear this was also the case on this one. I had a $700 market value ($1100 Retail) schon that went for $430.00...the last 5 auctions that I let it run against the market have poor results as well.

Duc.

In felt that the money for the Josey was fair even though it represented a loss for me. The Cam cue was a steal at the price it went for . I lost my butt.

Just the way it goes sometimes. On to the next one.

Special thanks to all those who bid I really appreciate it.

I think there are ALOT of cue sellers and dealer's who are way out of touch with what is going on with our economy and what's important. It's tough to see what is happening to cue prices but the market for any collectable or item is 50% what it was 18 months ago. There seems to be some nice cues coming on the market and there priced what they were when the market was at its peak and unless there in some kinda time warp they shouldn't get up set at what they think are low ball offers when there lucky to be getting any offers at all. Sure there are some big buyers out there but even they are not buying as many cues as before, only the extordinary cues. Its nice to see a seller let there auction run it's course and I feel for you not getting a good price but buying and selling cues for profit is just not happening like it use to.

I'm not that familiar with Ebay sales techniques, but can't you protect yourself with a reserve price ? Do auctions without a reserve go higher usually? I may be naive but it seems to me that if I were selling a cue worth $1000 that I had to sell, and I was unwilling to take less than $900, I'd put a $900 reserve on it. Yes/no ? I may need this info soon:rolleyes: ...Tom

I could have protected myself with a reserve price but chose to do it the way I did for the following reasons.

No reserve auctions seem to generate more interest.

Ebay charges a lot more to host a reserve auction.

You can get around this by doing a no reserve and ending early if it doesn't look like it's going to meet your expectations. Ebay frowns upon it and buyers hate it when somthing there bidding on gets yanked last minute.

These are cues I've had for some time and have been unable to move so I decided to blow them out and hope that down the road the buyer purchases another cue from me. Hopefully he'll tell a friend what a great deal he got and they might buy somthing.

I'm not in this to make a lot of money (trust me ) . I just like cues and by buying and selling I can try lots of different cues. Jamie bringin me in years ago has given me the opportunity to meet others in the industry and design a few cues.

The good people, friendships and the cues are what make it worth doing.

Now I understand Matt. I thought it was something like that. Fire away and have fun then:wink: ...Tom

thank you

I appreciate the deal I got on the Cam cue and will make a point of trying to do buisness with you here on AZ.

That's the reason Matt is a respectfull person here and in the cue market in general. I bought a cue from him on Ebay and in his page was speaking about AZ. He is the reason that i am here and i feel obliged to him. :)

I felt almost guilty bidding and winning the Josey. :embarrassed2: I have many of Keith's cues and they are top notch. 410 is almost too cheap, especially with the leather wrap. It's a bad time selling cues I guess. :frown:

Thanks guys. Tracking numbers have been sent. Let me know how you like them when they arrive.

Opps that's it.. I am complaining.. I will be sending my letters to the mods... You did not update your thread enough to alert me to the auctions. Please rectify this immediately before I go to the attorney general and send e-mail to Barack Obama. I expected a mailing list with up to the second updates, nothing less. :p

Matt, I've received the cue, looks fantastic and it has one of the best shaft I've seen.. Thanks..

Here is my most recent issues with sellers on eBay. I won 2 auctions from different sellers (Brunswick by Joss and a Rich cue). I paid immediately.

Seller simply REFUSED to sell the Brunswick cue. Reason given, he didn't want to sell the cue that cheap. A couple of weeks later he relisted with a higher starting price. Fortunately he did refund my money. In both instances I filed complaints with eBay.

On the Rich cue. Seller advised after the auction, the cue was no longer available. His brother sold the cue locally without his knowledge. He refunded the money. Sounds like the dog ate my homework. In this case I did give him negative feedback. NOTE: I'm waiting to see if this cue reappears.

I must be fortunate because these have been my only negative experiences on eBay.

Sorry to here you had a bad experiance . Next time buy from me!

I all seriousness its a minefield out there really hit or miss. It wasn't right what the sellers did but at least you got your cash back.

my worst experience so far
bought a cue using buy it now , the seller send me a invoice which amount to twice the buy it now price. i don't understand why ebay allows seller to + / - discount to their invoice. ebay sucks!
