So you're covering the monthly tourney at Bama Billiard Club now Ray?

Shhhhhhh. Instead of heading home, I was gonna go play in that one. :)

I haven't spoke with them bout streaming it.

Ray

Bama Billiard Club

Hey Ray, this is Harold.. Ill be in Mobile so I will get with you there.

Alabama Title

Well,...Okay I guess I will stir this pot if no one else will. The Alabama State Championships have always been held at Bumpers Billiards in Birmingham, Alabama. I am curious if this tournament has some relevance to the tournament that has been played for so many years, or if this is just a new thing with a similar title. If so, what is to keep every tournament in Alabama from being called the State Championships?

Mad yet? I ain't finished ya'll.

If this is the Alabama State Championships, then why can anyone play in it? Right,....this isn't a true state championship.

Hey, I support any pool tournament we can get down here, and I appreciate Breaker's bringing talent to Alabama like they do. That said, couldn't they just call it what it is, anything but a State Championship?

And, yeah,...one more thing. It is barbox pool, not real pool. That will stir a fire I am sure. That said, how about a compromise on this issue? Why not call it the Alabama Bar Table something something? Barbox is cool, but running out on a toy table ain't the same as it is on the big green. If you have winner break rules, this is not even fun to watch.

Sorry guys, I am no contender for this thing, that is for sure, but out of respect for our excellent Alabama players like Scotty Townsend, David Rowell, Richard Andrews, Robert Hall, Tim Orange, Jo-Jo Cole, Lance Ireland, and many others that I am leaving out, this is no State Championship if the players do not live here in Alabama.

All the Best Regardless.

Just a little heads-up about this tournament.

The TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR PAYOUT IS GUARANTEED AND THAT'S JUST FOR THE PURSE.

The CALCUTTA which is always BIG is LAGNIAPPE (something extra), in addition to the guaranteed $10,000.00 payout for the main purse. So bring you wallets, buy a horse and take your chances.

There will be one pocket action for anyone interested. Some people go just to play in the one pocket action. Some of those Alabama boys like to bet it up.

See you there.

They cut it off at a full field of 128 players so get your entry in.

Let's make it easy. It would probably be more accurately called the Alabama Open. I honestly don't care what it's called because it is by far the best tournament in Alabama bar none. It is bar box pool, but I guarantee that no chump is winning this "not real pool" tournament. I have nothing against you but your view is jaded. If you want to clarify the name, then you could have just asked them to do so.

Spouting out negative things about one of the best rooms in the South is not going to do it. I am from Alabama and tried to attend both of these tournaments each year. The "Alabama State Championship" at Bumpers has gotten softer each year. The fields have not been stellar in the last three-four years. Numerous players don't even show up anymore. I have nothing against them either, but the last couple years it has really been the Metro-Birmingham Championship. I haven't seen Scotty Townsend attend in a while and the Huntsville crowd skipped 2 of the last 3 years.

headed there 9am tomorrow, bringing a BEAUTIFUL new Gilbert with me for the right price...........
