Can anyone recommend pool rooms and tournaments for November 8-13th to visit?

Any MUST-SEE sights while there?

Hi Joey - x2 for Skinny Bobs. Lots of 9'rs and a non smoking side with quite a few 7'rs. Not sure on action but there are quite a few good 1p and rotation players that play out of there.

Skinny bobs has a Friday and Saturday 9 ball tourney that start around 7:30 or 8. A 10 ball tourney on Sunday's too that starts at 2 I believe. That's where the best shooters play, 14 9'foot GCs and a non smoking side with 8-10 7 foot diamonds. That's where the action is gonna be. It's technically in Round Rock, right off I-35 in a strip mall. If any one hole is gonna be played that's your best bet and I'm sure Bastrop (James Davis) can find someone for you to play. Only negative about the place is it can get a little smoky on the 9 foot side (I'm not a smoker)

As far as Austin itself, it's a very pretty city and the weather should be great that time of year. If UT has a home football game when you're in town that would be a blast to go to and tailgate. Tons of great local food options too, and the Bob Bullock Texas history museum is always a cool thing to do if you're into that sort of thing.

When I visit my folks in Austin, I always make sure to shoot one of the weekend tournaments at Skinny Bobs. Usually a solid tournament.

Skinny Bobs is the only place for a man with your speed

I can't beat anyone. I haven't hit a ball in I don't know when. I wish I still played as good as I once did. I can't even say I coulda been a contenda. My eyes, they just aren't what they used to be. My stamina, what stamina? It's ok, I've lived a good life.

About what time Friday night or Saturday night does the Austin tournament get over with?

Cool!

THANKS!

I appreciate everyone's comments.

I've never used UBER. Is it something that is popular in Austin? I've heard that Austin has this car rental street thing but I'm not too sure I want to do that.

Friday tourney will end right around midnight typically (skinny bobs closes at midnight everyday but Saturday when it stays open til 1am) and Saturday tourney will end 12am-1am.

Uber is no longer in Austin. If you're staying in downtown Austin you will either need to rent a car or take a 50-60 dollar cab 20 miles north to round rock to go to skinny bobs. In downtown Austin there is a buffalo billiards with a ton of 8 foot gold crowns but no serious players there.

Great information!
Thanks,
JoeyA

Joey...Its hard to believe a player of your caliber (with perfect 20/20 vision, and in big $$$ action daily)..would resort to the same old tricks all pool hustlers use, to sneak up on someone! You should be ashamed! :o:o:o

Dick,
You've led the way for all of us young'uns and taught us most of the dirt we know.:D

BTW, my vision is not what it used to be. I used to have 20/15 in both eyes, now only 20/15 in my right eye and 20/20 in my left and that's no joke.

There's a really nice place called Ramos Sports bar with 5 black 9ft Diamonds. They have a 9 ball tourney every 2nd Saturday of the month which you should be able to attend. Lotta good players there, even saw Mike Massey there a little over a month ago.

116 E Parsons St. Manor TX, 78653

I won't go into it but personally, I despise the tables at Skinny Bob's.

Thanks!
