Almost 9 years have passed since Brett Favre last played a game for the Green Bay Packers. That’s about as long as the time that has passed since Joe Pechauer and his family had their one and only encounter with Favre.
In January 2008, a previous connection made by Pechauer with retired Packers security director Jerry Parins led to the meeting between Joe, his wife Polly, sons Jake and Riley, and Favre during a downtime for players at the Packers’ hotel for home games.
The Pechauers arrived for the prearranged visit with 25 pool cues. Joe Pechauer, owner of J. Pechauer Custom Cues and Quality Billiards, had the sticks made in the company shop as a way to honor the illustrious playing career of Favre in Green Bay.
Favre graciously signed each cue, took photos with the Pechauers and regaled them with a few stories.
Favre retired less than two months later, unretired in early August that year, was promptly traded to the New York Jets, and if you follow football, the rest, as they say, is history.
J. Pechauer billiards supply company is raffling off one of its last remaining commemorative Favre cues to raise money for charity. The same sticks that Favre autographed almost nine years ago.
“You’re not going to get anything like it again,” Joe Pechauer said.

I wonder who won the cue.
