They are still underpaid today....

I was in from 96-99, when I enlisted my paycheck twice a month was $600. Yes, I lived in the barracks and ate in the chow hall when I could, but that was the worst living conditions I ever had, not to mention worked about 80hrs a week.

Lived in a 20x15 room and shared it with two others.
