It's sad to me that no one spoke up , it's sad to me that maybe if someone was on site who had an opinion about it they may have kept silent as not to offend "the pros" .To me it's just a sign of how bad we have gotten away from whats important in the name of being politically correct. It's just more evidence of how politically correct and un patriotic our country has gotten.I really have a burning desire to sell my toyota tomorrow and get something made in AMERICA ......it matters. For the sake of players signing a flag I am sure it was not meant to be as tacky as it was or even meant in any disrespect.
Lou, thank you Sir for serving our country and to all who served THANK YOU.
I am not military but have had enough friends and family over the years who are to get a lump in my throat when I see our countries flag displayed and treated properly and a sad heart when I see it disrespected for any reason.
I understand and appreciate where you're coming from but don't just sell your Toyota. Better check all the labels of virtually all the cloths you wear and practically everything else you buy for Made in America labels. TOUGH to find! Yep....just took off my Eddie Bauer shirt....Made in Costa Rica.

But as for Toyota cars...the ones sold here are almost entirely assembled here by American workers and contain a LOT of parts built by U.S. parts makers.
However, sad to say that in the 2012 Consumer Reports..Japanese brands grabbed the TOP SEVEN reliability ratings. Deserving what you get IS the American way and we have a LONG, LONG way to go to deserve more automobile market share than we have.
It is NOT "unAmerican" to buy superior products at lower prices anywhere you can find them. What IS unAmerican (because it is ignorant) is to intentionally buy inferior products at a higher price and therefore reward mediocrity!
Personally, I LOVE the American flag and get choked up half the time when the National Anthem is performed. BUT I love the CONSTITUTION which IS America...not just a SYMBOL of America and the thing about THE FIRST AMENDMENT is that we MUST RESPECT IT and abibe by it....ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS MOST DIFFICULT TO DO SO!
So, while I would always treat the flag with respect, whenever I see that it isn't, I feel that is PROOF of why America's version of FREEDOM is second to none of the major developed nations of the world.*
We therefore ought to feel...if not say...to those who treat our flag with disrespect..."THANKS for being LIVING PROOF of America's version of FREEDOM." (A benefit without PROOF of its existence is no benefit at all).

*For all you AZ members who are citizens of countries other than America...that statement wasn't to say that we are necessarily BETTER than any other country. In fact, our current political disfunction is an international embarrassment and is proof that we are not better in many ways and that America has plenty to learn from other nations of the world.
