I just checked my notes from the match, and then watched the video (it's on YouTube). "I said 'extension'" was Shane's initial response after John Leyman called a foul. Then they (Leyman and others) reviewed the recording, at which time Shane indicated that he called for an extension when he turned to go around the table with 16 seconds left. Commentating, Jeremy Jones reported what Shane had said.Even though I was there, maybe my memory is failing me here, but I thought the problem was that Shane didn't hear the referee's "ten-seconds left to shoot" warning, and the dispute concerned whether the warning had been given at all.
