Avatars, anyone else feel some are in poor taste?

I've seen some threads that are sidetracked, by a post from someone that
has a questionable (to me at least) avatar. The one with the two guys kissing
was enough for me to write this post. I hope I am not out of line, but think
that some avatars and images in the signature are in very poor taste. I know I
can turn off avatars, but most of them are in great taste, and actually are in
some way related to pool and billiards.

I think the privilege of being able to display an image along with your handle
adds value, and provides another way to express yourself.

I agree, I can't read a single post from the user with the avatar you mentioned, it's just too disturbing
 
I've seen avatars that I've felt were in bad taste, but the two guys kissing today would probably not be considered bad taste. Although I admit that most likely, there would probably be lots of people uncomfortable with it. My personal opinion is that today, we pretty much have to accept homosexuality, but I still don't feel the need to glorify it. Although not my own personal opinion, but we pretty much have to accept that avatar in the same way that we'd be expected to accept an avatar with a man and woman kissing. That's just the way things are today.

Point taken but I don't feel I have to accept something that is about to make me projectile vomit , but I can choose to ignore it.

When I see that image, all I can think is "scroll wheel don't fail me now".

I respect everyone's personal feelings on homosexuality. I personally have friends who are gay, and who I care very much about. Being around them for a while, it's common to see a level of affection between them, but I have not and I think they have the understanding that I would prefer not to see them engaging in a kiss. But that's me.

I'm of the opinion ( and I'm often wrong, but never in doubt) images depicting gay behavior of either gender are still too cutting edge for a message board about billiards.
 
Well everyone is probably going to think this is lame. For me when the kids walk by the puter and see the two guys kissing it raises questions that I dont need. By the way Sam says he likes the dog avatars:) :D

It's not like your on a a site where you would expect such things.

My avatar is, of course, is of billiard professional Jennifer Barretta, wearing what you may find acceptable attire for a woman on a public beach.

I dont have a problem with yours. Now if it was two girls kissing I wouldnt want it on here public for all to see. Butt I would ask for a copy:p

The 2 guys kissing was Sweet Marissa's I think. She posted it in protest of Jeff's buxum bust avatars that many of us are fond of. Hippie Pool's avatars are the ones that come closest to being offensive IMO, and they're not sexual in content.
I'm not an admin and I wouldn't want that job, but I also truely couldn't care less what you're avatar is. There aren't any little children looking over my shoulder when I post.

My avatar is the same since I started here it's a picture of my better halfs butt.
