This post is for explaining/showing great shots you've pulled off, particularly ones that have saved you in a match.
*The following shots were all planned:
-Here is one of mine that really saved me. The game was 8 ball in a league match. I was on my last ball and my opponent had a few left. Middle pocket was blocked. Couldn't bank it in the opposite middle pocket cause of his other balls. Couldn't bank it to a corner pocket. So I had to come up with something creative. I knew I had to bank it somehow so I checked out the tangent line of that 13 ball(I don't remember which ball it really was, but in the pic it's that ball) where I wanted to contact it with the 1. So I banked the 1 into that point, using follow with a bit of left english to help get shape on the 8(Which I got perfect on). Follow also helped the 1 ball remain with stun to keep on the tangent line. As the 1 ball was going for the corner pocket I got a lot of praise and clapping and people saying "no way" =P. I was really satisfied with the shot, especially because I got perfect shape on the 8. That shot really helped me with that league match.
-And here's another shot with a masse I did in a semi-final match in a tournament. It was 10 ball this time. Note: All balls except the 8, 1 and 9 are placed randomly, but they don't matter for this shot. So I was snookered on the 1 by the 8. I thought it over a bit and decided to masse it. Then looked at the free top-right corner pocket. However, being so accurate with the masse would be very very hard(To cut it in). So I checked out the possibilities of a kiss shot again. This time with the 9. So I massed around the 8(I used my break cue by the way), hit the rail and it bounced off with left english so it hit the 1 knocking it into the 9 and into the pocket. It was a called shot and I got a great applause for it. Sadly, I lost that semi-final match
... But oh well, the shot was sweet.
-And a nice shot I did 2 days ago in a small 8 ball tournament.
I got bad shape on the 1 ball and I could only bank it. Getting to the 8 was though, had to hit it soft with right english. By the way, it wasn't exactly like in the pic but there was very very little room for error because of the positions of my opponents balls(Again not exactly like in the pic). At the end the cue ball got exactly where it should have(If it had been shot a bit harder I would get snookered, but you can't see that in the pic). This shot was hard to judge because of the low speed I had to put on the cue ball to get it positioned right and the right english. Both of those factors alter the rebound path of the object ball. That shot helped me get shape on my match winning shot on the 8.
-Edit:
Another cool shot I did(Not as impressive, but it was a winning shot) in a friendly match in 10 Ball. I got ball in hand, but the 5 ball(My current object ball) was clustered with the 7! Couldn't go in any pocket... So I looked at that 10. It was very close to the pocket so I knew I could pocket it. I was looking at a follow shot to carom the cue ball into the 10. But the 5 and 7 were pretty close to the rail, so just in case, I elevated my cue a bit to make the cue ball jump after contact and then start going forward. So it jumped, but not going forward too much to be able to contact the 5 or 7 ball which were rebounding off the cushions. When it landed it went on forward to pocket the called 10 ball.
So those were some of my shots, post what you've got!
