AZ..has it done more good or bad?

I care... and I matter alot!

Lol, I am sure you do and do.

I meant the people who could propel this sport into the big leagues. Those people don't care about the things happening on the ground. They are BIG picture people who only see pool as it relates to increasing their market share points - expressed in hundreds of millions of dollars per share point.

They probably don't even know the URL for AZ Billiards.

AZ has done 1000 times more good than bad. Without AZ I dont think Derby City would have the anticipation it does. People compare two players games and who should win. Makes the excitement that much more when you go see it live. AZ lets you post pictures of cues in Valley Forge at the Hopkins Expo and you get to see cues that are brand new before most of the world does. Tournament announcements that may be fairly close to you increases the attendance at unknown tournys. There are a ton of reasons to give high fives to the crew at AZ billiards and most the negativitiy is due to a very small % of posters.

Just one view point.....

If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have known about Allen Hopkins and the Million Dollar Challenge and tried to hold a qualifier. I also saw the U.S. Open 9 Ball and called and asked permission to run a qualifier. I am trying in my small way to make pool a sport that anyone can play and learn to be better. The guys in my area are looking forward to the qualifier. Where else are they going to have a chance to win and go to the most prestigious event around. I am trying to send four of them. It wouldn't be possible without this site. I can talk to people from everywhere and tell them. The positives far outweigh the negatives. Just enjoy the site and try not to fall for the trolls.

Way more good than bad, I have no problems skipping over bad posts or stupid (stupid to me) thread ideas that are obviously done in bad taste but it seems people can't help but feed the trolls sometimes. Just like anything in life there is good and bad and it's up to you do take what you want from it, it's hard sometimes because words hurt and people do what they can to get under your skin.

Just like playing pool in tournaments you have railbirds on the side telling the person next to them "he should have done this" or "I wouldn't have missed that", you learn to tune them out.

I'm up $270
should have been 250 [ grumble grumble ]

As far as the initial post, far more good then bad imo.How can more honesty, knowledge and communication translate into a bad thing long term??

I?m sorry but I feel like a lot of people have been wondering this. With all of the recent threads and incidents that have become public knowledge, what does everyone think? Quite frankly, I feel that all of the negative stuff that is being posted for the entire pool world to see has to put yet another dent in the sport. I am the first person to listen and inquire on certain matters pertaining to pool, but with the overwhelming amount of despiteful things I read on this forum, I can't help but ask myself where we all were 10 to 15 years ago? Honestly, the only reason I get on the forums any more is to see what is going on with TAR and prestigious tournaments, however, I'm always bombarded with things I really don't like reading or seeing that are always promoted by people that obviously like to discourage new comers away from pool and in my eyes friends, that is a DAMN shame.

Personally, and I've read None of the threads, but strongly feel AZ is giving the game/sport more exposure than any other form of media or print since the Color of Money. With their newly evolved front page, its creating excitement and interest that BD or P&B could never offer, plus it's often in real time. Keep up the good work...........................IsDr

I have to say...

Az has did a lot more good for pool than bad. The only problem I see is the way the moderators play favorites and ban people that do not deserve it while others get away with a lot of stuff. However, that is how the world works. Its not how hard you work or what you know, just WHO YOU KNOW, in a lot of circumstances.

It won't Hurt To Mention The Gingerbread Man EITHER... imo
