AZB Chalk Holder

Anybody read this?

So I had a little extra time in my hands this weekend and came drew this up in a CAD program. The A is coming out of the side like it is on a ball. There is a Z and a B on the backside doing the same thing.

Maybe I will get it made and have Jerry give it away in a Gold Member Drawing.

EDIT: Link to 3D Printing site to order. http://www.shapeways.com/model/1822369/azb-chalk-holder.html?li=search-results&materialId=25

Thats really nice! If you have a few made please send me a pm because i will buy one.

That looks sweet. I would imagine a few people here would like to have one.

Awesome chalk holder

Put me on the list to purchase if and when these are produced. Very cool offering, and I would be proud to use it and promote AZ Billiards at the same time. Love AZ :)-

How hard would it be to come up with a version to fit the octagon shaped Predator chalk or undersized Kamui.

The difficulty to make one for the predator chalk or kamui would not be too bad. The only problem is that I do not have either one of those so I would need to get some and spend a little time with it to get all the dimensions just right. Also I thought that Kamui was now making their chalk the same size as Masters with the Kamui Beta. Hoping to get my hands on some Predator chalk within the next few weeks so that I can put something together.

We are looking at a couple of options to get these made. A fellow member here is talking to a machine shop to look at the cost there. Another option is 3D printing. We will update with whatever we figure out.

That could be very expensive to make. Even if done in plastic and injected molded the mold can cost $10,000 or more. A couple of my ideas have gone in the trash due to the surprising costs to produce.

This is a perfect platform for 3d printing...maybe fabricate a place to slide a small magnet on it?

For the anticipated volume, I assumed it would be produced by a 3d printer. Anyone who spends $30 for a piece of chalk could be a more potential customer than someone who doesn't care to spend more than 15 cents for a piece of a Masters.

I would certainly be interested, were they produced. Hopefully in or near my budget. :p

Still, beautiful design. I hope it will work out.

Shannon and i spoke about this last night and i will sum the conversation up for everyone. I forwarded the cad design to a machine shop here locally and am awaiting a quote from them on a few materials. Once i receive the quotes we will post a poll and let everyone vote on which material they prefer. As far as price we will price them as cheap as possible. Neither me nor shannon are making any profit on these. We both agreed that selling them a few dollars above cost and donating the money to azbilliards would be the best thing to do. That way everyone gets a great chalk holder and azbilliards receives some funding also. I will let everyone know the second i receive the quotes from the machine shop

So here is what I did. I uploaded the design to shapeways.com which is a 3D printing website. I have enabled nearly every possible material option that is available. The link is here:

This way a person can order whatever material that they desire. Prices range greatly based on the material that is used. PM me if you have any questions.

Brilliant! Love this! Bravo! :clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:
