Well, let's see. Thorsten begins posting occasionally on AZB, wins the 14.1 "World Championship", then wins the IPT in Vegas. This CAN'T be a coincidence.

I think there is some AZB kharma doled out to those pro's that happen to contribute here at AZB. I hope it continues.

Not only is it that he posts on AZ, but he must have been thinking about entering the DriverMaker Holiday Invitational. We all know when you enter that, good things happen. ;) :D

It has to be.

Heck, he is probably using an aiming system by feel, shooting with a Predator shaft, and counting to 3 after every shot. Look out IPT, here I come :D

Maybe Thorsten is reading DCP's postings for tips on how to run a rack?
OMG, I was so getting ready to post something like that HAHAHAHAHA!:D

You're right I can't think of any other reasonable explanation. Come to think of it, my century in snooker and 14.1 came very soon after joining AZB, I think this place provides good luck.

Now that I think of it we should do a "where are they now?" thingy on all the people who have banned from here. I betcha that their game soon after went into the toilet, and finances probably ran out too.

Of course there was some good AZB kharma being spread for Toastie. That's why, when our pool hall decided to have a pool for the IPT tournament, I picked Thorsten from the get-go. Maybe Thorsten and I should play one game of eight ball for all of our winnings. LOL

Cam-man,
Yes, you are correct. Jeff Beckley started posting recently and received a last minute invitation to the IPT.

I believe Saddam Hussein, Jean Vandeveld, Ian Baker-Finch, Alex Rodriguez, and David Duval all used to post here - I wonder what happened to them???

A man wise beyond his years.

although it may make gor a great story, williebetmore, your info is a little inaccurate.

thorsten didnt become a member and start posting until about 10 days AFTER the world straight pool championships. He and charlie were here in ny and someone started a hread on haow thorsten should have been allowed to continue his run......

we had a discussion that evening about it and we looked it up on the net.
charlie posts here frequently, but just business. thosten has always been told to stay away from these boards from his friends because of either people attacking pros, or jsut the general nonsense of ignorant posters.

And although I know the reasons why he joined (it is now unimportant), i can tell you he has enjoyed (albeit infrequently) posting on the site.

I will tell you 1 more thing. even though he hasn't been posting much.... he's watching!

Actually, I was to understand he uses a Universal Smart Shaft, but I understand we were all kidding around.

Surely posting here can't hurt.

If my facts are correct, the good luck factor begins exactly 10 days before you join this board (as a thankyou, whether you are aware that you will join or not). So it is more than likely that this contributed to his world championship win.

NYCdude,
Now, now, now. We can't let a few inconvenient facts get in the way of a developing urban myth.

Goes to show you, leaving this board has more consequences besides not being able to talk about pool!:D
