Popularity is a bad criteria for rating the value of a poster....IMO
Let's use CJ vs PJ as an example. There would be passionate advocates of both. In my opinion the conversations were more informative when PJ could break down CJ's posts. Who would win in a vote? CJ I am sure since he seems to have more followers. But PJ helped CJ get to the popularity he enjoys today. And to be honest....I rarely read threads with CJ involved anymore. I went too long without seeing anything new and informative from what was posted last week. CJ is left unchallenged. We just get his soliloquy nowadays.
In summary....
I love the contrast of opinions here. I only wish the forum had the ability to self moderate like http://slashdot.org/. It would make reading some of the more volatile threads a LOT easier!

Nope, no one here like that. Just posers that like to throw money in peoples faces is all.
Dumb a ss thread anyway. Been done before. Peoples feelings can get hurt over it.
Truth is, everyone on AZ is the most valuable poster. People that teach, offer opinions, tell a joke, post a funny link, etc. I don't log in every day to read one members threads or posts. I log in to read what everyone has to say.
The only thing achieved by voting someone the Most Valuable Poster is to devaluate others efforts.
Guess what? I said hi to Johnny Depp once. I rub elbows with A Listers.
Yes Eric, you're right and sorry if I hurt your feelings. I generally like your posts as well.
Sometimes I feel that you go a bit over board and if you'd step back and realize that people like you for who you are and not for what you have, then
maybe things would be a bit different.
I have always tried to like Eric P ( The Person) and not because maybe I could visit your mansion when I got to Vegas. Know what I mean?
I am a simple person, came from a simple back ground. Money, mansions, cars etc don't impress me much. People impress me.
Sorry for the reality check Bud. Just be Eric.
It was fine until PJ jumped the shark.... Even CJ has said that the back and forth and questions made him step back several times and reevaluate his beliefs or the way he was trying to present his ideas....
Everyone needs someone to call them on their bullshit at times.. The key is that it doesn't have to be personal.....
I'm not sure who would get my vote if we had a poster of the year award... I'd vote for me .... Except I have been guilty of personal insults thrown at PJ, Neil, Lou, Duckie and a few others....
It's such a hard little life trying to practice what you preach.......
