Ok folks, I just got an email from Dawn Hopkins. (Thank you Barbara!)

She has asked for the following information:

Size of the room (this will be bar tables, not 9ft tables)

Number of people

Our budget

I think we need to start off by getting as accurate a head as we can get.
From there we will know how much room will be needed. Once we know that, we can get an estimate of the cost from them on the room and then we can figure out how much it would cost per person.

Is this something you guys are interested in doing? If it is, we need to get these answers ASAP as it's only two months away and the Hopkins are very, very busy people considering how large the Expo event is.

I'm in for whatever if it is like what we had a DCC as far as cost and availablity.

Hey Timberly!

Dawn and Allen are people that you can talk to about something like this. They promote pool and players, so thank them!

Youse guys have to come up with the $$$. I am still working the Amateur Tournament desk (thanks to Dawn's forgiveness/maybe forgetfulness) so I won't be able to participate.

Good luck!!

Barbara

With this being bar tables, I think it's safe to say that we would need two. Unlike Derby, the bulk of people will be there at the same time. There is a lot going on at the Expo, just like at DCC so I don't think over crowding will be too much of a problem.

I'm going to let Dawn know that I need a day or two to get a good head count (gotta give folks time to sign on & read the forum) but to go ahead and plan on two tables and to please give us a price for the room & tables so that we can figure out how much per person to cover the cost of the room.

I'll keep you guys updated on the progress but I defintely need a head count so that we can be sure that this will be feasible for the number of people that want to contribute.

I will have a booth there so I will be busy during the day.

Let me know if there is anything I could do to help out.

Richard

I can make it on the weekend!

My wife has that weekend off, so we'll be there. Just let me know what you need, I will help in any way I can. Hope the tables will be Diamond bar tables!

Timberly -

I didn't read much of the DCC thread. Can you explain exactly what the AZB room will be? Can only AZB posters participate, etc...? Thanks and thanks for doing this!

The AZB room is a members only room. People that contribute towards the cost of the room get to play on the tables. Other members are welcome but cannot play.

We had a chalk board where you put your name up to play. 9 ball was a race to 3 and 8 ball was a race to 2. The players rotated. The incoming player kept the table (win or lose). The new incoming player chose the game and then kept the table (win or lose) and so forth. LOL, that's the best way I can explain it without going back through the threads to find a better way of explaining it. If it doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll go find a better explanation. LOL, it's getting late and I'm starting to not think clearly. :p

It was just a room for us to meet up, put some faces to the names and play some friendly pool. We had all kinds of pros coming in for challenge matches and lessons. Stefano Pelinga came in to do some private shows, Tom Simpson stopped by a few times to do some jump shot clinics... you get the idea. :)

Timberly,

I'll be there around noon on Friday and will be there until Sunday. I have no problem taking on some responsibilty so just let me know where it would be needed and it's done.

I would like to be a part of this as well. Between playing and Hotel it will be an expensive weekend by am willing to contribute.

Count me in too, I will be there all four days and so will my father, thats two of us right there. Thanks for all the work you giuys are putting into this!

I will probably get there friday night and will stay until sunday. I already know a few members but I'd be more than happy to meet new people. I'm not playing in the tournament and won't have a booth, so I should have some times on my hands.

I may be coming up this year. I'm not sure yet. I will however make a small donation toward a room if you get enough to do it. Sam

Timberly,
I plan to be there Thursday night through Sunday mid-day. I will help as you need it.

$$$

I will not be able to attend but will make a donation in the name of the Windy City Open.

Let me know when the address is set up for payments

Have fun guys,
Joe

I was wondering if this could be made a sticky so everyone sees it. Especially considering it is a big get-together possibility for us AZ members.

I'm not sure I'd be using it, but whether I do or not I'd like the option. I would certainly be willing to throw in a few bucks even if I don't get to use it. That's all depends of course on what a few bucks turns out to be.

Trust me, I'm learning a whole lot about humility at Renaissance on Sunday nights :D

Getting much better but once you get to the final 5 or 6 they are all B+ and above. Still stuck on 5th :( but working on it.

Our friend who posts here sometimes has been snapping them off pretty good. I'm working on him to get him to come with Matt and I.
