you got enough members and the web site . come on mike get it started.
charge a 5.00 yearly membership fee and put it to the tour.
10000 members x 5.00 = 50000.00 thats a start. tell all your friends to join azbilliards to keep pool alive. just a thought.

excellent idea. but you'd need a good business plan to go along with your start up funds as you'd want the tour to be self sustaining financially rather that depent on the players continue to fund the tour as happens now. with some start up capital raised this way and the help of some of the "pool business" experienced members here maybe something could get done.

yeah

well azhousepro? there is potentialy, ( as charlie bond of the break rak told me) tens of millions who play pool world wide. simplely recruit more azbilliard menbers. i know from where i'm from ,alot of players enjoy this site very much and would be easy to recruit many more.

If we could get all the league players hip to the forum you would be suprised what it could do not just for the site but for them also.

good one

With the many ideas I have seen mentioned on this forum on how to support Professional Pool and get it to where it can grow to become more conducive as a livelihood, this may be the best one yet, (at least to get some momentum started).....

It gets down to how many people (among pool fans, enthusiasts, and lovers of the sport) REALLY CARE ENOUGH to actually contribute some dollars to make this happen.....Heck, even ten dollars would not be a lot of money to send in and if so many thousands would do it, and even as one said, one tournament could be the beginning of many to follow.......

I like the idea that it could be called the "(1st Annual?) AZBilliards Professional Open......"

That would be nice but would take alot of commitment. Maybe if a tour is not feasible perhaps a once a year big AZ tournment to start off with and see if it works into a tour later on down the road. Pool has always seemed to do well when the country was facing bad times ...Times in America are getting hard so perhaps pool is on the verge of a come back....How I would love to see something stick ...

Interesting idea, I'll let Mike know about the thread.:)

Mike already runs the BCA event here in AZ with his partner Chuck-a long time friend:wink: (not the announcer). The pool players show up and make it happen.:) Setting up and running an event is not as easy as it looks. Contacts, negotiations, place, time, tables, sponsors, organization, hiring an announcer, arranging for a massage therapist, cue maker & photo sponsor; his hard work and effort makes it come off smoothly. Yes, a lot of commitment.

He travels so much already. Hopefully we will see some good things happen over the next year now that I am maintaining the homestead, he can be freed up to perusing some of the interests that he has voiced to me. He has such good ideas, you have no idea. Be patient.

Obviously, first and foremost before anything concrete can happen, the cash has to materialize.....what to do after that is just a matter of planning....without any real financial commitments from people, it's still just talk....

I think that although there are ten thousand members, there are only several hundred that are fairly active. I am certain that there are far more lurkers.

But how that translates into how many are willing to and will donate to something like this is nebulous.
