Long time no post,
Well I would like to say that I sincerely missed not staying in touch with many of you on the 14.1 forum. I feel of all the posters on AZB, the ones that belong to the 14.1 forum are some of the better players in skill and knowledge and have much better social skills then most other posters.
Well I got kinda burned out on pool at the end of last year and played some serious golf for about 6 months. Shot an 88 for my best round in 6 months so I am pretty happy. In May I happened to get stuck in El Paso for about a month with no car or golf clubs so I started going back to the pool hall and playing again. I missed it alot and my game came back rather quickly, beat one kid out of 500$ playing nine ball.
My last week there I remembered Black Jack was in El Paso and I had always wanted to get a 14.1 lesson from him. He agreed to a four hour session with me one day and it opened my eyes to alot of mistakes I was making. Even though my high runs havent grown, I feel I am making some better desicions.
Since then I have been playing alot of one pocket and nine ball. I am getting burnt out on the ghost and i am beating it about 65% of the time. So hear I am today yearning to play 14.1 because I like to do challenging things, if its easy why do it? Where is the feeling of achievement if you can beat the ghost most of the time?
So I am getting back to straight pool and I am dedicated to run 100 balls before my next birthday next year. I go to Korea in October without my wife so I will have plenty of time to practice in the upcoming months. I would like some help from the 14.1 forum since there is a wealth of knowledge here in the many posters that have run 100's of balls. I will try to get a video up once a week and hopefully I will start to gradually improve with some helpful insight from some of you.
