J&D CUSTOMS

Here are the pics of the 3 cues in progress in my shop at the moment. I decided to go plain on these 3 due to the awesome grain in the Bacote and the flow it has with the Pink Ivory. These are wrap cues and will have them mostly completed by Sunday if anyone is interested. They are ownerless but I am sure with the figure that won't last long. Dates on camera are off , new batteries....What do you think?
Thanx,
Jim

Dude they rock! Once people see mine I will steer them this way. If I wasnt so set on having twin brothers I would have nabbed that batch of wood. That is ome pretty co looking wood. Some of these youngun's who like abstract will defiantly get off on these. Check out this thread on how to change a tip with out a lathe or a fancy shop. Items Needed one Razor knife, one bottle of super glue max, some sandpaper of varying grits, one stick of 128 MB computer memory, a cotton T-shirt and a piece of old Levis, and a drafting pencil. Look out now!!

I'm a pure witness bacote hits very solid I'd say the most cases in the right cue maker's hands.
J&d your cues look very very nice and I hope the hit as good as they look.

Just for my info: what a cue like this goes for?

Thanx guys for your insight and kind words. I have sold several cues here on AZ , but most seem to stay quiet. I have sold to Iowa Player, Hunter, Harveywallbanger, and some others. Maybe they could chime in and give you all an Idea of my cues.
I build out of passion , not profit. This is not all I do for a living. I do have a full time , non pool related job. I am also a player, which I do not get to do much. So as others have asked , why so cheap on prices , are they cheap cues? No, just like to build cues and watch folks play with them. Sounds corny , but it's the truth. All that know me or have talked to me know this.
Thanx again guys ,
Jim Lee

Nice looking cues. Something about Bacote that draws me to it. It looks great with African Padauk, which my cue had, and veneered with Coco.

Jim's work is awesome! I bought an old Adams/Helmstetter conversion from him that had fit and finish that were amazing. The hit had a nice resonance and the price was very nice, too!

Jim, could you PM me the "Good Guy" price on the bocote and pink ivory cue...

Thanks!

Steve

Thanx guys. Hunter , how is that cue doing these days? That was a fun build. Turned out nice though.
Pm's have all been sent.
Thanx again ,

Dang Jimmy, I keep looking at them things and thinking...Wow!
The conversation at my house has been going like this....

My little one: "Go get 'em Daddy!! They are super cool!!"

I'm thinking...." hmmm How much cash can I dig up? Lets see...cash in credit cards, sell all computer equipment except for little laptop, cut off cable TV, cut out Budweiser,...No better to cut groceries by 2/3rds. I can replace everything after new job/contract has been acquired!!"

Terry keeps saying: "You have enough toys coming. Wait until you wear those out and after you go back to work"

"But Dear!! They are J&D Custom Go Get 'em Bad Boys!!"

Then I just got "THE LOOK". Yall know which one I'm talking about. The one where I will be lacking "companionship" if I keep it up

LOL!! Showed pics around to some at the pool room. One guy is waiting to look at mine and then decide what to do. He says its time to lay his current one to rest. I've seen it and uhhhhh yeah it needs to be put out to pasture if not the glue factory. Lets see if I can help ya move a couple.

Thanx Ed. Hope to have these 3 done soon. Maybe you can help me find these 3 homes as well. That will save you from the LOOK!
Thanx again,
Jim
