Bad Blood?? Strickland & Archer with possible bonus.

You disagree that Archer is a better 14.1 player?
To be honest I really don't know who is better. However, they both know what the games are to be played and nobody said "No I can't play that game" or "lets play a different game" so that tells me that they are both confident that they can win or have a chance of winning.

This would be a great match whatever the game, whatever the stakes if it takes place I imagine it will draw a big audience. Obviously somewhere here in the South East would probably add a little bit extra but I'd hope to be there wherever and whenever it takes place.

I am sure I will be talking with JA sometime in the next 2-3 days about it. I would just ask everyone to keep some common decency on this type of thing, lets not get the rumor mill fired up with, one said this and one said that it does Pool no good whatsoever. I have never talked to either of them about each other, so I don't know their views on that, if I did I wouldn't post them, IMHO it does us (Pool) no good. What I would imagine is that they both have respect for each others achievements.

Wow

I spoke with Johnny last night again and he threw a new angle into the mix. I have not spoken to Earl yet today on if this is even an option for him but JA said "Whoever loses gets their head shaved by the other at the end of the event". I asked him 4 times "Are you sure??" cos I don't even talk to JA much if he has just lost a match as he just does not like to lose. I said I can't imagine you sitting there while Earl shaves you head. Anyway I will see if Earl is even interested in that as I think people might tune in just to see that part of it :)
I will update as I get more info.

Man, talk about pressure.......this tops whatever money is at stake; As conventionally neat, and smartly dressed as these two champions always appear, shaving the other guy's head would be BIG............

Eric, come on really. Do you really think I would put this out there without their permission?? I'm disapointed in you for that even crossing your mind, let alone putting it in the forum instead of a phone call. You really amazed me just now Eric. I am upset by your attitude toward me on this. Do you think I have been trying to **** up pros careers for the past 4 yrs? If I was I have plenty to say about alot of people but I don't. R U Kidding me????

I would not be that upset with Eric, You have had OUT OF CHARACTER moments yourself.

no i dont think you would, but I talk to JA daily and he never mentioned it. It just suprised me thats all.
By your own admission, repeatedly, you very rarely talk pool with JA during your daily chats.

Read the first few sentences in the Archer challenge to Appleton that
Eric posted for Archer. Rarely does not mean never
I have. When you rarely, not never, broach a particular subject with someone that you talk to daily then you shouldn't be surprised that you don't know all there is know about that aforementioned particular subject. Particularly when all it would take is a phone call to clear something up before you post with innuendo concerning someone else who is striving to lift this game we love.

One of these Legends tours was scheduled in Denver last September, but so far as I know, it never came off. Since then, the room where it was scheduled (Table Steaks) has gone dark.

What's the story?

Paul, we were ready to be there until 2 days before at Table steaks and the owner called me and said he could not afford to pay us. therefore we decided that instead of spending the money for airfare hotel etc we could not go as it would have cost us all $$. A few days after that the place closed up. Thats why it didn't happen. That was a exhibition not a money match. I hope this answers your question.

Hmmmmm, lol That is also true.
We all make mistakes by half ass reading someones post at times.
Fatboy is a good guy and so is Mark. Both are good for our sport.
I wouldn't want to see either blasted too hard

match up

For those of you who think that Johnny would dump to Earl, or vice-versa, you have lost your minds. Both have money right now, not that they would anyway, you couldnt give either $ to lose on camera in front of the world, especially to each other. lol-sick:shakehead:

OOPs my bad you said September. Earl and John Schmidt were there around that time and did a small clinic and a exhibition. That happened. Then Mike Sigel was supposed to be there to do a clinic on his own (THAT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LEGENDS AND CHAMPIONS TOUR) That was cancelled and I have no idea why as I said that wasn't my deal.
Also the Magnificent 7 event was supposed to go on there and that didnt get enough sign ups to happen. Seems like Denver has bad luck or something. We did get to do one successful even there though and thats why we kept trying.

Ok, as some of you know After years of playing on tour together and spending countless hours together with the Legends and Champions Pool Tour on the road. It seems that Johnny and Earl just DO NOT care for each other very much. One says the other is a cry baby and one says the other is responsible for his absence at the Mosconi Cup.

There have been words thrown out here and there that I have kept to myself as it is really their business. However with all the woofing between players these days I asked them if they wanted to match up. They both said yes without hesitation. They did not even ask about the money believe it or not, I believe its more of a 'Shut the F&%k up match. However the match will be for $10k. At this point it looks like a 2 day event, day one = race to 15-8-ball. Then a race to 15-10-ball then a race to 150 or 200 14.1. All on a 9ft table probably Brunswick unless we get some help from Diamond.

Lastly, I am wanting to make this a double header and also add Dennis Hatch and Daz Appleton to the deal and have them either play a race before or after the Scorpion and the Pearl.

I suppose you all guessed it,l my new years resoloution is to make some shit happen this year. Hopefully all will get paid and all will have fun.

Your T-Wheels (The super Agent) :)

I am working on dates and location but this will be soon

When I read the post title, I thought to myself, oh boy here goes another 9 ball coin flipping battle. But ... thankfully, I was wrong. Including straight pool will certainly add to the determination of skill.

I'd suggest, since 8 ball has so much in common with straight pool, replace the 8 ball with one pocket. For a real well rounded challenge. :)

I'm not very excited about this match up. For starters, who doesn't have bad blood with Earl? I think you could throw a match with anybody and claim it to be a "Bad Blood" match. Secondly, Earl and Archer just did a road show tour (demonstration and pool clinic) a couple years ago and they seemed chummy enough to work together then. Without some specific details about a recent fall out, the "Bad Blood" I just can't buy without more information.

Still, it's always fun to watch two of the best pool players in the world go head-to-head. Earl will want it because he wants to prove to everyone that he's the best pool player on the planet. Johnny will want it because he likes to make money.

That was business & I'm sure they were expected (and did) act in a professional manner in public - doesn't mean they don't have "issues" between them

Agreed  Thanks to both Mark and Eric for your contributions to the pool world.

Yeah, Mark, there's another thread going about the dismal state of public pool right now in Denver metro. The Mag 7 is what I remember, with McCready, Strickland, Hall, Sigel, and i forget the rest.

Anyway, thanks for the explanation.
