REMEMBER THIS POST GUYS? 3000+ hits, started in september.
in resolution i received 4 additional crappy sets 2 of which did not fit. no money no refund. how awful. Just thought i would bring this up again for laughs.

i bought some joint protectors from a guy named Loonie Wilber out of oscada MI. He sells some on ebay but i bought them seperatly through paypal cause i was referred to him. i order a set of jp's with 4 points. i asked him if he could make them, otherwise i was going to go to steve kornele. He said yes, i re-asked him are you sure, and he assured me yes and within a week. That i didnt believe but i went with him cause i could save $25 spending $60 which isnt a bad deal but still these are not worth it. what a mistake. It too me almost 5 moths to receive them.
Here are the issues

All three are different widths! the butt one is the widest. he doesnt think its an issue. he thinks cause he put so much time and effort into them i should except them. Its not my fault he didn't know how to make them. Why should i have sympthy and except a bad product.
please see the pics below. the one in the middle is clearly smaller.

One of the shaft jp's has a pin that is 3 threads longer than the other,
one shaft jp doesn't fit flat. se the pics below please.

also they were made to be rounded on top. one is almost flat, one is round, one even more round.

all the points aren't even at the bottom. some touch some do not, some overlap. look at the pics below.

LOOK AT THE PICS

this is not even counting how horrible they look. He mailed me the first set 2 months ago and the all the point were not touching or striaght and the lines had filler in them cause of the uneveness.

thanks for reading my post. i am just a little frustrated that i cant get my money back. he said he would turn them down all to the same size but that is way to small.
If anyone cares to email him let me know. He said a friend of his said the looked perfect and he tested them before he sent them but they are ok for maybe someone with a budwiser stick.

would you accept hese or i am being unreasonable? i just wnated to get other opinions to see if i am not the only one that thinks these are bad cause the maker thinks they are great. he will only exchange them for other jp's just plain and not of the same value. no money back. let me know what you would do before i react further.

THANKS A LOT AGAIN FOR YOU TIME.
here are one of his auctions

jp's

yep, look like crap.,probably did take alot of work ,cheap though!

yeah, cheap. i was referred to them by a known person and i took a risk but he seemed so assured actually offended i kept asking him if he could do them for me and i tried to saev money and they are not even close. he will resize them but the samllest one is to small. and i dont want some plain crap ones either cause those arent worth my money.

Those are the worst jps Ive ever seen. You have every right to complain. Its a shame and a waste of wood. I can only say since he wont refund your money you'll have to chalk this one up to experience. THE BITTERNESS OF POOR QUALITY LINGERS LONG AFTER THE TASTE OF A CHEAP PRICE IS FORGOTTEN.

Look on the bright side....these are definitely one of a kind never to be repeated.......

...sorry.....really poor excuse for JP's.....:(

Those are terrible, absolutely terribly done...I mean....wow lol, how could someone be proud enough to send those out to a customer?

Is that purple paint on maple? It ain't even points cut in, is it ?

Wow...that poor guy. I bet he worked on those for hours too. I wouldn't dare show you the first set I made back in 97. lol. Priceless. LITERALLY.

Talk to Chad McLennan of CAM cues for good JPs. He's good.

thanks, i already ordered a set from cam i should have them soon. he was really good to work with. i will post pics when i get them. thanks to all again. i will email this post to this guy soon so he can see the stink. to give him a reality check.

real cuts of wood

oh and those are actual cuts of purple heart. hehe the frst set he sent me were so uneven he used a purple and green filler to try and make them even, i mean horrible. then he said he hand snaded these down to limit the anount of filler he has to use. i said how about no filler. i complained saying he should not have taken this order in the first place knowing he couldnt do them. i was basically a test subject for him trying new methds. i admit he was patient and did keep trying to amke them better but still, should i say ok i will tkae them out of sympathy? no. i should get what i apid for that he said he coudl make. oh well. lesson learned. he sucks.

some people put out bad work and get away with it. keep on his ass about them and tell him you took it here to show everyone the quality,,,,,,,,,,,,or lack of,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,his work

i am going to keep on him. hell i will let others email him too, to really get on him but i do not know if that is right. he will get this link soon as soon as more replies add up. thanks again to you all.

Thanks I needed a good laugh! Holy crap those are the worst looking jp's I have seen. I would just leave bad feedback on ebay and let hin know you are posting here. I would only do this as a last resort but if he was stupid enough to put those in the mail and think you would be happy with them I have to question his mental stability. It sounds as though he will not refund your money so I guess this is all you can do.

and yes there are cue makers putting out cues like this and getting payed for it, I have 4 in my shop right now I'm fixing 3 from fellow azers, these cues are new exept for the few racks testing them out. Junk, I would post pics and names but that is not looked at well here, and 2 of the cues are made by fellow azers. One from 10 feet away looks awsome, up close, inlays aren't straight not even close, points aren't straight, butt is warped, and this cue is brand new. I was pulling out the pin to replace with new, and the entire joint collar and rings came off and the threads where all chewed up, not pretty. and no the rings coming off was not us, bad gluing and threading. If I ever put out a bad cue, or do a bad job on something, and I don't put things right, please tell everyone, I and my brother do not want to be hacks, I'm sorry to say the cue world has enough at the moment. Maybe I'm not one to talk, maybe I haven't shown enough to have this opinion but here it is for better or worse.

Just to add my .02 for you to email him the link. Man, those are horrible. I don't even know how he was able to get those together, they are completely uneven. I really thought like JWP, that they were just painted. Hell, next time he might try painting them, it can't get any worse than that. WOW! WTF?

Live and learn I suppose. The same thing happened with me and Skip Weston. I've told the story many times on here but in my opinion it bears repeating....I was sold two shafts that were every bit as crappy as your joint protectors. Skip made no effort to make things right and just left me with two pieces of firewood. All I can say is that there are people out there that have no sense of decency or ethics. Be glad that this lesson only cost you what it did...my "firewood" cost me over $300.

Maybe Skip Weston and this guy are related. Look on the bright side, maybe by posting this stuff, other potential buyers can look out for this guy.

Regards,

Doug
