Here are two Hoppe cues, one by George and one by Gus. Obviously the Bushka could use a little cleanup, but look at the huge jump forward Gus took his cues.

Anyone with more info on this subject or an opinion on it....LETS HEAR IT

those cues are both done the right way, they didnt clearcoat the bottom black ring, I see guy doing that and they chip up first time you use them where there is no carpet under the table. I really like both those cues alot, i wouldnt clean them up they are just fine:smile:

Alright, here we go, Steve has pulled out the big dogs!! Two of the best yet. I'd love to see how you're gonna top these.

Comparison

Even though Gus made the Hoppe "look" aesthetically nicer, I'll bet, that Bushka feels better, being a true fullsplice. My opinion, a fullsplice will always "feel" better than an end grain to end grain "A" joint constucted cue. Just an opinion........ :)

I'll take either one you want to send me, though!!! :)

Edit: Just wanted to note, for those Gus loyalist, I'm not saying Gus's cues are not fine hitters. From the one's I've held, you can't get a better feeling hit, from an "A" jointed cue!! :)

I am playing a full splice cue now,but I can't tell if full splice cues feel different or not,I would be willing to bet that no one could even tell if it was full splice or not if we could run a blind test

Remember this is not a dogmatic statement,I just wonder and I would be willing to bet.Don't let me hurt anyones feelings by this,it just seems hard for me to tell, someone who knows more or plays better might really take me off

I personally like the Gus better, and I always liked the regular Balabushkas better than the titleist.

Either way I like both of these cues, and would be proud to own either

Red Alert, Steve has opened his flood gates slightly yet again. Simply love the aesthetics of both the cues have to offer.

Awesome!
The classical cues with simple designs are just some of the best out there.
Nothing like a bumperless hoppe with your coffee in the morning to get the blood flowing and the mind dreaming about how well cues like these might play.
These have to be a pair of my favorites from you vast collection of cues.
Great balance of the ring to the butt with both of them - The Standard of Hoppe's!

Thank you Steve for posting these together!

hey

Thanks for all the kind words. I cant stop thinking about how incredible it would be to know the life history of each cue. You know that these two beauties would have some great stories to tell.

WOW!! I just love the simple elegance of hoppe style cues......................and one from each Master!!!!!!!

Steve, will you refinish the Bushka, clean it up, or just leave it as is? Just curious.......I know leaving them as is may help the value, but it would be cool to see it like NEW as well!!
