Balabushka

You did miss one I know of, the biggest one in fact. Mosconi lol... Unless you were just speaking of winning championships with the cue. Mosconi had retired is the only reason he did not. But he still sought out Bushka...
BTW, what a list that is.... Crane was my favorite. The man bought class to a pool table...

Two guys with different games. Crane would practice safes endlessly while Mosconi would practice never missing endlessly. Those guys always wore suits to play.

Custom Cue makers were quite rare in those days. If my old memory is correct house cues all had black ferrules, custom were white.

Only hit some balls with a Bushka once, owned by Jack Justice, it was like feeling a surge of power.

My eyes have only seen the video of Crane running 150 and out on Balsis. So, Crane must have practiced not missing as well lol...

Crane is my favorite player based on his demeanor, love for the sport, being a true gentleman while playing the sport etc... But I do feel Mosconi was the better player obviously. And after seeing Crane in a couple interviews, I do not think he would deny that fact either. It is my opinion though, and only my opinion, Crane had a greater love for the game than Mosconi. I could never see Crane retiring from the sport for anything other than death. He just loved to compete and play the game.

Your dad had excellent taste in cues. This Barry deserves its own thread I think.
