hi, for the record, the carbon cue (& the shaft) used by Brahim Djoubri was made +25 years ago by Artemis . carbon shafts aren't a novelty , whatever some people may claim...oh 47.2 to 300 points must be a final match
looks like it has some big runs too
even some carbon shafts being used
There is also video of a thin and dark haired zanetti playing with a carbon shaft.hi, for the record, the carbon cue (& the shaft) used by Brahim Djoubri was made +25 years ago by Artemis . carbon shafts aren't a novelty , whatever some people may claim...
(his butt is in carbon with a thuya burl handle , with an adjustable weight/balance system)

I think he won all or nearly all of the games at the Belgian Championships one year (2007, six titles).I haven't been watching enough smaller games and I'm going to start. I have promised myself ...
Which makes me want to ask (since I am COMPLETELY out of the loop here): Could Caudron beat the best players of all the small games?
Or are there specialists at each of them that he wouldn't stand a chance of defeating?
he usually skunks everyone at them. i havent seen him lose any small game match, even tho there are limited video. but for sure hes the king .I haven't been watching enough smaller games and I'm going to start. I have promised myself ...

he played a 1000 point match of 1 cushion with jpdb, was not even close
he played him again a handle full of yrs ago at 47.1 also not close
and again at the last world one cushion final in 07
there are players good enough to beat him like on any given day like patrick niessen sam van etten xavier grettilat jpdb but like i said ive never seen a video of him losing any small game match
he just has too good control its really something else
at straight rail he can lose for sure because so many have mastered it, just one miss is all it can take for a niessen or van etten or swertz to finish the 400 and out
caudron is the current 47.2 and one cushion world champion, they havent held a tournament for these in a very long time, both are on video as well i have the dvds.
ceulemans is the current world straight rail champ, shows how long since they held one of those lol

I was lucky enough to be a spectator at that 1-cushion match between FC and JPdB in Salpho, a room near Antwerp. Took three days, they played 500 points a day. Fred built up a considerable lead on day 1 and day 2, JPdB made a comeback on day 3 but lost 1500 - 1300-something. On day 3, JPdB averaged over 30! That is roughly equivalent to 5.000 avg in 3-cushion, or up. FC (who hardly needs practice to play the classic games at the highest level) and JPdB are the two best in the world at 1-C, the rest does not even come close.

How long does 500 points (two players) take at 1C? Neither of them seems to mess about.
They used to play 1-C to 200 points in the Ceulemans / Dielis days, then it was 150 for a while. These days, 1-C matches are mostly to 125 or 100 points. The 500 points (with two intervals, if I remember correctly) took anywhere from four to five hours. That was of course, helped by FC's swift play and JPdB's many "mini points" on a square inch. I have been completely fascinated watching this match, mostly because the two best players in the world have such a different style, sometimes even a different approach to certain positions. FC always cleverly keeping margins for error, JP often trying for perfection. Both have played tournament averages over 20.00, and I can't even think of three other players who are certain to be over 10.00 for a week.@Bert van Manen said:
