Ball cleaning

I built a ball polisher based on this YouTube video posted by force follow.

It works great for me and only cost me roughly $25 to build. I squirt some aramith ball polisher on the pad, then put in about 5 balls at a time in the "machine". I run it for a couple of minutes. Balls come out like new.

I also built my own. Therez a step by step in a very old thread here. Spent roughly $50 in building it.

I also use aramith ball polisher and it works great!

Have you used the Aramith cleaner? The reason I ask is because it is kind of thick and creamy. I'm not so sure it would work well with a spray bottle.

Try Brillianize or Nexus plastic cleaner; both come in a spray bottle Not nearly as thick and leaves no residue on the balls and probably builds up on the machine pads less as well. Then every once in a a while to get a more complete polish apply the Aramith cleaner to the balls and give them a spin.

I have not used the aramith brand cleaners, but I figured I could water it down a bit and give it a shot. Looks like I'm going to do some more shopping on eBay. ;)

As I said, the viscosity of the Aramith polish is a little thick and it does have a small amount of grit to it so I think it would not work well out of a spray bottle. Also, because of the grit (not a lot but a little) I think over time in a high speed polisher it will wear the balls down faster than a plastic cleaner like some of the ones mentioned.

That whole thing is nonsense. I'll bet you a 100 grand it never happens.

Why would anyone want to take that bet? If I win it doesn't do me any good since we're all history in a few months anyway. So the only way I win is if I lose, in which case I'd be $100K better off by not betting.

Aramith ball polish

I actually ended up buying the double platter ball polisher from diamond after one of the local shows here so I saved about $125 on shipping. Thats been a year and a half ago I think.

I have been using it around the Las Vegas area and am very happy with it.

As I've done in the past, I take the Aramith ball polish diluted into a spray bottle and just do one squirt on each sprocket after the balls start spinning. After the first couple of sets there is enough polish on the pads so adding more is not necessary. If your pads are caking up you are using way too much polish.

I did have to hunt down good janitorial spray bottles that have a bigger feeder hose and are made to be used with liquids other than straight water.

Good Luck
