whats the best way to mark ball placement so you can practice the same shot ??
i know you can spit on your finger to mark the spot
anything else works??

if you just place them down do they stay??????
if you glue them
does it hurt the felt when you take them off???

Mark your table with a little dot (sharpie marker or similar) at every diamond intersection. You won't notice them when playing. If that's not precise enough for you, make a mark with a turned down chalk where you want to setup your balls. These can be brushed/vacuumed away if you'd like. The adhesive 'paper hole re-inforcer donuts' work good too, but they're a bit of a hastle and you'd probably won't want to actually play with them on your table (never tried transparent ones).

The objective is to improve your game, regardless. Whatever it takes - enjoy the journey. There's a lot of great info on this forum at your disposal, just search it up. I'm always finding things about stroke, grip, bridge, etc., that are helpful. There's some very qualified contributors sharing their 'secrets'.

A lesson with a SPF guy is the way to start (I did and my game is far better now because of it).

Another vote for the hole reinforcers, they are the nuts.

They are non-permanent and don't interfere with the balls roll. I leave mine on the table all of the time while playing, they don't bother me in the least.

Green painters tape.

Another thing that works well is the 1/2" wide green painters tape available in hardware and paint stores. It is made to be easily removable without leaving any residue behind. I have left it on for days without any ill affects. A small square to mark ball placement or peel off enough to make a line. Works great, is cheaper than hole reinforcers and does not affect ball roll.

Just get the paper reinforcers they are self adhesive and come right up, no harm to the cloth.
