Congrats on your 2nd Place showing int he Bank Ring Game. The Saturday night grouping sure looked tougher than the Friday night. I can only imagine the pressure of playing against 5 other great players for several hours & then the time limit come up and having to go all in. That rule seems, I don't know how to put it politely so I won't say. I guess as long as you knew the rule before the ring game started it makes it a little easier to swallow.

:mad: Just felt it necessary to congratulate you on the way you played in the ring game. There is no way you should have gotten second place for outbanking that field of players. Grady said he put up most of his money himself. You have to admire that, and where is Little Justin? I dont remember seeing him there, although he told me the week before that he was going. Joe? Andy? Just wondering .
 
I'll have to agree with the other posters. Being impartial, I think you played the best and deserved to win. I think the ring game is great but needs some tweaking. I was impressed by your talent and demeanor - good luck in the future!

Thanks for the compliments, I'm sure yall know the emotional roller coaster ride it is for trying to make a living playing pool. Bank Pool has become my forte' and also a nice vacation from the 9-ball tournament grind, thanks to Mark and Watchez I was able to relax a little and bump my way around. I am able to relax and talk to people while playing banks, I have never been one to visit with others around me while playing but for some reason with the bank pool I'm able to visit wth others while competing, maybe It's because I'm having fun. In my opinion Bank Pool is definitely the most pure form of pocket billiards.

I'm curious why you think bank pool is the most pure form of pocket billiards. I'm not around anyone who appreciates it, so I've never heard much about it from a bank pool specialist/enthusiast's perspective.

It seems like the games that get most of the notoriety regarding pocket billiards are 14.1 and snooker.

Bank Pool is the most pure form cause there are no kiss shots where a ball can carom in off another ball and it can't be slopped in except for when the ball hits the point on a straight back, the point is considered a rail in this case. Also it's all about feel, these players from the past who write books will tell you to memorize this diamond system so you can extend this angle and Blah blahh blahh. It is not about all that, it's about understanding your stoke and getting inside those balls so that you might visualize the bank. All top bank pool players have one thing in common at one time or another while they were learning to bank they went to bed at night banking balls off of the walls and on to the ceiling. While doing this they were trying to imagine how different angles would affect the shot and so on, these are some of the signs that your going to make a player - when you think about it away from the table. Buddy Hall used to drive down the road and imagine the steering wheel as the cue ball and the curbs of the street as the rails, I hope I was able to answer your question.
