One of the big things that kills rooms now is the rent $persqf like FatBoy said. The other thing is a very big percentage of poolroom owners were poolplayers from rooms on big tables. Most thoght bar boxes weren't real tables.HELLO...it's about the customers now. A lot more like to play on a bar box and have a few drinks than go into some poolroom with big table that wants you to be quiet like your in church. I've heard so many new owners say "I'm not having beer & wine, bar boxes, or anyone under 21". Everyone of those guys are out of business now.
I had no beer or wine in my room...but those were different times. My rent was less than $200 a month, lights less than a $100 and so on. Johnnyt
