Barbox 8-ball

I agree. Also, I have seen some APA 7s who dominate on the big tables because they are shot makers. Then when they go to the bar box to play 8 ball, the same players who got beat on the big tables kick butt on the small tables because they can play position.

.

This sounds about right. I think most APA 7s fall in the 'C' player range so the description that they are shotmakers but dont play good position would fit. By the same token, the APA 7 that plays good position on the barbox probably comes up short on shotmakin on the big tables. It's rare that U get a 7 that plays like Kirkwood or Schmiegel or Sergeant or Idrovo or...

Anybody know Richard Spooner and Ed Keiss (spelling)? Perfect example of what I am talking about. Spooner dominated on the APA tour which included Jackie Robinson a few years back. In Baltimore, Richard claimed he HATED the bar boxes and yes indeed, Ed kicked his ass no problemas on the little tables.

You can't play very accurate position without accurate shotmaking. Hitting the wrong side of the pocket can make a difference of a foot or two when it comes to position play.
