If theres carpet? Yes. Other than that, no some places I play in I wouldn't advise it..

oh yeah there has to be carpet, i dont like playing on anything but carpet, shoes or not.

I have noticed when I go out to play, the tables are a little lower than at home or I'm a little taller. I attribute this to me wearing shoes when I play in the bars and not wearing shoes at home. I can easily tell a difference.

I have nice soft carpet around my table Fatboy. Check your shoes at the door. I'm not letting you off for chicken wings either.

Of course..if it's winter and non-carpeted floor (worse if icy cold granite or marble) then it's not just chicken wings so simple but probably also walk and croak like a chicken..

Ok, back on track. I play both barefeet and in shoes at home (carpet) but always in shoes whenever I'm shooting outside. I don't think it'll affect the game much even with that inch or so height difference..ultimately we're all focusing on the table and the balls more than our shoes and attires.

I like to wear my flip-flops when I'm just hittin' 'em, or playing cheap... If I'm really playing for something I wear shoes, but if it's REALLY serious the shoes and the sox come off.... bear-foot brings out the beast in you!

Hi Fatboy,
I play the best Pool in Cowboy Boots and in the Tournament I pay with Golf Shoes, that's a super feeling.

When Keith McCready was very young, he often played barefoot, at least from what I saw in Baton Rouge, about 30 years ago. I watched him on a few different days each time he was barefoot. His legs shined like the moon but the bottoms of his feet looked like night-time sin. :D

I played some jam up scotch doubles 9 ball yesterday in my red adidas soccer sandals. The BEST shoes for me to play pool in. I love them.

We play one full round with four players, races to 5. $25 a set. Each round I lost the first set and won the next two. I had several sets where I would only miss one ball the entire set, and a few where I didn't miss a single ball the entire set. I was in dead stroke, giving my partners pin-point position. One partner and I strung a two pack - scotch doubles. That was pretty cool. Came out $50 a head after 6 sets.

I credit my good play to my sandals!
