So Barry has said he tried to call Johnny 15 times with no return phone call. Not sure if that is one of those talk to my attorney type of things, but alas once again another issue with pool and gee there is no sponsor money in pool.

This issue could have been ironed out in private, much like the complaints by people who buy a stick and they don't get immediate responses, so they start a thread trashing people.

No one listened to Barry's side, everyone started with the "Barry's stiffed people in the past, Barry doesn't pay on time" etc. Well sad will be the day when Barry says you know what this is more trouble than it's worth. Then no pool player will be US open winners (except for previous winners)

OR, maybe the APB drops this idea and then Barry says, after all the bad press you generated through this and dragging my name through the mud on the forums, I've decided that I just don't want any of you playing in this event, and I'm going to bar the list of players on that press release from playing.

How many people would run up and say I never gave my permission to be on that list lol

He gets so little thanks, and while there have been issues in the past, I still wonder why more people don't stop and give him a thank you.

In defense if Johnny, some people just don't answer the damn phone anymore. I run into this all the time. Barry is probably old school like me. He should probably send Johnny a text. Nobody answers their phone, and nobody replies to e-mails today. It's all about instant gratification texting. Oh, my poor thumbs hurt already thinking about those young'ns who text 24/7! :embarrassed2:
 
I agree JAM, but as many calls as he is talking about and no return call.

scan the phone bill take a screenshot (redact a few #'s) and show all the effort made to call. It goes to the reasonable person issue, he said he tried making the calls, and a reasonable person would quit trying after so many efforts without a return phone call.

Well, right now there's some egg called ABPPro on another thread calling himself Johnny Archer and that he'll be online to answer questions for 10 minutes only.:thumbup:
 
Anyone who is supposed to be the President of any organization damned sure better answer his phone, or his messages...

Something just doesn't feel right about all this.

The press release comes out, Barry says he tried to contact Johnny (which who wouldn't) there is no reason to believe that he didn't try to do that.

Players say their names shouldn't be on the list.

This reeks of really poor organization.
 
well i think if a person is elected president of an organization he surely should able to be contacted by anyand every means possible and i can't see why anyone would have problems with someone promoteing the game of pool:confused:

It has crossed my mind that perhaps that is what this is about. Is it possible Mr Williams wants the U S Open?
 
i think we all need to just start facing facts, kinda like an akcoholic needs to do at some point. there are some SERIOUS issues with the decision making of people at the top of this abp. im not even sure how they got their positions, or who elected them..... but in the best case scenario, this is just a total catastrophe.... and to be quite frank, extremely indicative of pool and player's decisions.

I have to add my 2 cents. It seemed like over the years there has been a conflict of interest when you have a group of Pool Players running a Pro Organization. What Pro Pool needs is somebody that is not involved in playing be at the top to make decisions. I have seen the conflict myself over the years and I'm not bringing any names into this, this has been in the past. I've seen too many people making the decisions that only benefit a select few, and this still goes on to this day. They need a group of people, not players to make decisions. I'm not saying the players have no say, there should be a place within the Organization that handles ideas, complaints,suggestions, but the final word should not depend on a select few milking the system like in the past. This is just my honest opinion from what I have seen happen. I love the game of Pool and it hurts me to see history repeat itself.
 
Its all very sad. As I have said before I don't know who's owed money or if they are owed money, but it's about managing expectations. If you say everyone will be paid in cash before they leave that's what should happen! I think Barry should pay everyone by check before they leave, if he wanst to post date those then let people know that up front. If players should chose not to play under those or any other conditions so be it.

As to Johnny not answering his phone, I have never had an issue with that and I can't imagine him even contemplating doing that. All I can say is that in all my conversations with him, I have never heard anything other than a real willingness to do what ever he can to improve the lot of Pool Players.
