I've heard different answers to this question. Did Mika ever get paid in full for Barry's 2011 Masters 10 ball event?
He had not as of a week ago. Barry said he was mailing the check to Mika last week.
Since then, Mr.Behrman promoted another event in March of 2011, the Masters 10-Ball for which he advertised a prize fund of $35,000 added. He reduced the added money by $5000, just before the event. At the start of the first day, he further reduced the added money another $5000. After the event ended, Mr.Behrman failed to pay many of the top finishers, and till this day still owes a balance of $10,000 to Mika Immonen, the winner of the event.
There were 57 players at the Masters.... The prize fund was 53.5k....... Mika still had not been paid in full as of 2 weeks ago and was supposedly the only "Player" left unpaid but word is Barry says he mailed the check.
Now let me do the math ..... The entry was 500 and the added money was guaranteed 36k with a full field of 128 players....
The WPA event was added after the Master's date had been announced and unfortunately it went unnoticed until too late to reschedule.
The crowds did not show up and the APA event was zero draw as most of them couldn't have even picked Mika or Efren out of a crowd..... Added money was definitely coming straight out of Barry's pocket.
57 players showing amounts to 44.5% of a full field..... $28500 in entries but wait.... 44 of those players paid early bird so they got in for 400 and Barry kicked in 100 a head...... 24100 Players 4400 Barry
44.5% of 36k addded monies would have been $16020
So if you are with me so far the prize fund should have been $44520...
Barry added 25k not $16020 so at the start of the tourney it was Barry $29020 and the players $24100.......
I do think it's a sad state of affairs that Mika had to wait as long as he has but one of the reason he had to wait was that Barry had to dig deeper into his pockets than he should have. Granted it was his own choice and he ended up cutting off his nose to spite his face but he added the money for the players not because he had to.
If the players want to be paid on time maybe they should do more than show up. Get there a few days early and hit the rooms in a cpl of hour radius. Hobnob with the league players and inform the public about the great event they have going on up the road an hour or 2.....
There are more changes needing made from the players side than the promoter from the way I look at it. While the ABP is promising to be more active they have yet to do anything different. How are their empty promises made with the best of intentions any better than the one Barry makes every year.. At least we know Barry is only going to be late... Had the ABP said if you guarantee the money we will help you fills the seats by doing xyz Barry might have been reasonable... That is still only a might....

The 36000 was to be added with a full field... 2 weeks prior to the event when it was obvious that a full field would not be filled they released the news that the event was to have 30,000 added with a field of 100. The date was Feb 21st and can also be found on the linked site.
57 Players showed up to support Barry's event so for the ABP to try and spin his decision to cut the added to 25k is ridiculous at best when the monies were only guaranteed based on certain participation levels. You should always check your sources if you wannabe a reporter...
I do agree that all players should have been paid by now. I would think that 90 days should have been the longest any of them should have had to wait as most business debts go to collections after that point.
