Baton Rouge and NOLA

hitting both places for yourself is indeed best

OK, great info. Thanks again Hu. Sounds like something I can handle.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I want to say that I was in Jamie's place a long time ago. I can't recall the details, I just remember the cloth being old and it being super humid in the room.

If I see you I will be sure to not place my beer bottle anywhere near your case :-)

Lou,

Hitting both places and seeing for yourself is indeed best. I have never been bird dogged to gamble either place when I said I wasn't interested. Friendly people either place. Jamie is OK in his place until he loses more than he can afford to lose. Some raw deals he pulled on friends coincidentally included me once and he tried to dime me out when somebody thought they wanted a confrontation with me. For some reason I do indeed have a little bias against the little b!tch. Never-the-less I'd still send you to the better place to play. I think you'll find there isn't any comparison.

Give me a shout when you are pointed this way. I'd like to say hello and drink an RC with you, maybe find a po-boy. Needless to say it won't be at Jamie's, he is a little rooster when he has a room full of people and the law for back-up.

The only place in Baton Rouge worth playing is Bayou Billiards.
You can normally find action there but the tables are getting pretty crappy. They are 9 ft diamonds but they need to be recovered and leveled.

There's also Cruzers lounge in Gonzales. It's small and only has 3 Diamond Bar Boxes but there are quite a few of us that like some action and it's a great atmosphere and great location right off I-10.

Hu, I'll let you know -- maybe we can get together at BB. RC is on me.

OK, thanks for the tip, LSU. I guess one of my preferences is decent equipment, so I may just have to drive to NO. Thanks again.

ack! Sorry, Stone Cold -- I don't do bar boxes. Nowadays I am so weak I only play a little 1pocket and can just barely bunt them around at that game.

Lou, You have nothing to worry about at Buffalo Billiards or Corner Pocket. I've been going to both since they have been in business and never had any problems at either. You can get action at either one. Both open 24 hrs. Joey A. plays at Buffs and Jamie Farrell owns the Corner Pocket. You will get some fair action. Casey

talk to me!

I pass that way once in awhile and am trying to learn the Diamond bar boxes. Was kind of disappointed in their play in New Orleans but everything banks funky as wet as it is down there.

Is Cruzers on 73? Off of it? Coming up the sled from New Orleans give some rough directions please. I do somewhat know my way around the area but it's been a year or three. What it is near or what the building used to be if it is an old building might be all I need.

Thanks,
Hu

Maybe if you get the BB thing figured out you can show me. Its been pert near twenty years since I played on one and to tell you the truth it looks fun.

Yea get off at 73 from New Orleans and keep right. Take a right at the first redlight(at Shell station) and its maybe 1/2 a mile on the left. Its in a little "shopping plaza" across from a Hardware store. Last unit(on right).

Thanks, I do know the road it is on, shouldn't be any problem to find the place.

I can't believe how much the city has come back post Katrina!

Quick question for dinner: is Emeril's NOLA's still good? How about Mr. B's or The Three Muses? Any local intel on the foodie scene would be appreciated.

Also, any info on this local player named JoeyA who plays 1pocket who everyone keeps mentioning? I hear he plays better than some instructors ever dreamed of playing....

Lou Figueroa
would like to see it
with me own two peepers :-)

Lou, All the places you mentioned are really good. You can find great food at a Gas station in N.O. JMO. Watch out for that guy named Joey A. He has some kind of CTE vibe going on. When are you going to Buffalo's. Casey

I don't know, Casey. I mentioned this trip a couple of weeks ago, but this Joey guy doesn't appear interested. (Strange, since he has the aiming system voodoo working for him and all.) If it's the same guy I'm thinking it is, I've bought him drinks on a few occasions and even chauffeured him around Vegas one time when he had no rental car but wanted to go to this one particular steak house, so I volunteered to drive him. Oh, well. I have a lot of things going on this trip, so I think go I'll fry other fish. Probably won't make it over to BB today or tomorrow then.

Watch what Fish you try to Fry. This CTE that Joey A. uses also allows him to CHANGE his look. You may think you have a new Fish on the line when in Fact you have found Joey A. The "Chameleon" Would like to see the two of you play some 1 hole. If you go to BB or CP let me know and maybe we can play some. Casey

It doesn't seem this Joey guy wants to engage, Casey. No matter. I had a great dinner tonight at Mr. B's Bistro. I may be by BBs early Monday afternoon to check it out.

don't tell Joey
hate to scare him away :-)

In addition to CTE, Joey has recently been posting about his conversion to Kamui chalk. I don't think you can scare that combo. Didn't Jamie Farrell play Klinger on MASH?

Will see you at BB. Mon. afternoon. I met you at the Derby City about 7 or more years ago. You played my friend in the 1 pocket tour. Vincent Catalanotto. He owns Vincent's Italian Restaurant here. He was just learning the game and you won easily. Casey. 504-250-3856
