Will be in Zachary, La for a few weeks and would like to find a place to play. My main concerns are types of tables and condition, next would be eye candy. Looking to play on pro ams or good gold crowns preferably. Mahalo in advance for your time.

I was once very familiar with Zachary, having lived within ten miles of it in both directions for many years. Unfortunately I don't know of a thing close to you although my information is very dated. The only real pool hall I know of in Baton Rouge is Bayou Billiards on Florida Blvd. A long ride from Zachary. There are some upscale style halls too, Ricochet's multiple locations and plenty of pubs with tables. The Ricochet's usually have all eight foot tables with one nine footer I believe and the rates are definitely geared towards the evening date crowd when I checked.
The equipment is very old Diamonds in Bayou Billiards I believe and they weren't well kept up last I knew. The current owner is a good guy with great intentions though and Bayou is a "real" pool hall. The last I knew the sign was still in front of the once famous Greenway on Greenwell Springs Road but it has been shut down for years. No idea if the tables remain or not.
Some others may be able to come with more current information or try http://www.nola.com/forums/billiards/ the owner of Bayou hangs out there a lot I believe.
Let me know if you find a good hall anywhere around or some nice tables in a bowling alley or something. I don't get that way often anymore but I do stray through once in awhile.
