Hey AZ'ers I will be coming down to Baton Rouge this coming Sunday for a week or 2. Where are the good places to play 1 pocket.Don't know where I will be staying. It will be at a Hampton most likely.Wife will be working at the courthouse. If you don't mind maybe give me some names and addresses I can yahoo for maps.---Smitty

Just head down to New Orleans plenty of action at corner pocket and buffalos.

Bayou Billiards is definitely the place to go to for some one hole, IN BATON ROUGE. Ask for Jeff, the owner and he will either play you or put you on someone else.

In New Orleans/Metairie you have the famous Buffalo Billiards on Airline Drive 504-836-0590. I'm always good for a one pocket game with people that I don't know for $30-$100 a game one pocket. Buffalo's is a little over an hour away from the RED STICK. I've even been known to play for funzies. :grin: Regardless, if you show up at Buffalo's be sure and say hello.

definitely go to BUffs! Play some with JoeyA and meet some of the characters.....maybe if you are lucky Humphries will be there and you can buy a copy of his book (the green felt jungle) and read it while in Baton Rouge ---takes a day to read. You should get goosebumps being in a seedy new orleans pool room with all the usual suspects present, i learned more there (new orleans pool rooms) about life than anywhere else. You will find lots of references to the owner of buffalos in the green felt jungle aslo.

From what i follow on some of the local new orleans forums, some of the action out there has been heating up again with the usual suspects playing more since internet poker can be troublesome with money transfers now.
