I didn't make it. I wanted to go. Leaving for Vegas for VNEA tomorrow. I've got a great intermediate team. Not sure if you know Tony Blankenship and Bruce Throckmorton, both great 8-ball players. And then me and Brian Gregg and a Guy named Duane we picked up mid season. I've only seen him play a few times but he's a pretty solid addition to the team. You know he can play a little if Brian and Tony decided to add him.hippiepool said:ditto ...... Sam , did you go to Logansport ?
Tammie beat her in the finals. Pam still shows up occasionally. She plays real good, but Tammie plays some exceptional 8-ball on the Diamond bar tables. Not a lot of men would like that action. I saw her a couple of years ago put a 6-pack together. Pretty good for a girl. Just kidding Tammie. Congratulations on another title. Sam9 Ball Girl said:How did Pam do? That's a name that I recently inquired about since I hadn't seen her name out there for a while.
come to think of it, rachel abbink comes to mind as well...
My guess is that the VNEA sees fit to consider this team an intermediate team, so why should they not play at this level? I have to admit that the national pool league organizations definitely don't always get things right. But with that being said, should the teams volunteer to move levels when the rest of the world is playing where the league tells them they can? I'm just curious what you would do if you were in their shoes Lawman888.lawman888 said:boy satman with that team you got a lot of heart playing intermediate why not slip down to open and try to rob a bunch of people who go out there for fun you guys should be in masters thats a joke that i would not be proud of
THats as bad as the riley character who bragged about coming in second and then i found out the guy beats world champions and played in the friggin open division that is alot of heart

If you know anything about vnea you can sneak people who have never played. You only go up if you play in the singles and finish high so its possible to have a team of archer putnam strickland and duell and play in the open if these guys never played in the singles event but i would be playing in the masters because i could not sleep at night but thats the diff in pool players and why the game has a bad rep because people knowingly cheat. LEt me ask you this is it fair to sandbag and play as a 4 or 5 when you should be a 7 just because you can get away with it . That is what you are sayingdogginda9 said:My guess is that the VNEA sees fit to consider this team an intermediate team, so why should they not play at this level? Actually Bergman got 2nd in Open singles & Woolford finished top 32 in Open Singles.klockdoc said:Young Guns, consisting of Quinn, Woolford, Bergman, Raulston and Vardaman won the Masters Team division.
All of them played Masters singles and I do not think any of them faired very well.
TheOne said:I played the VNEA the year before and finished 33rd I think and won little, VNEA rules put me back in the open I didn't request anything I just paid my entry. Fact is I had spent 5 years at Uni and 5 years sat behind a PC. In addition I had never played on US Style tables or balls, or with anything other than a 9 ball cue. Yes I played in Pro events afterwards and had some decent results but only after I had a few months of practice behind me.
Unfortunately there has to be a winner every year and if you are a top player then the system means you will only get once chance and then moved up, that seems to be fair to me. Everyone has to start somewhere, I think jeremy Jones won the open one year, was he stealing or has he just become a much better player since then? By definition anyone player that comes through a 500+ or in the case of the BCA 200+ field playing short races on a bar box is going to be a good player, but they won't get another chance to play in the open. SVB is practically a pro now but he's won the VNEA masters 3 years in a row which is still an amature event, I bet he plays again this year too and why not. Until we get a clearly defined pro status agreed you will always have these problems.
I suspect from the tone of your post though that nothing I say will change the way you feel but I hope you win it one year anyway.
