Ok, this sucks!! Anyone know why they moved their competition from Las Vegas to freaking Kentucky?? I know that we are having to take a vote on whether or not to take the cash equivalent or go on up to the same place they shot Deliverance.

It's the same hotel as Derby City pretty good rooms, the weather should be cooler than Fla, it's a college town and you can watch the U.S.Open 1-pocket, but bring plenty of snacks food not the greatest.

Let's get it right out here. This is how crap starts.

The BCA 9-Ball is in Louisville. The 8-ball remains in Las Vegas.

Let's clarify this rumor.

The BCA National Amateur 9-ball event is in Louisville, KY this year. The BCA National Amateur 8-ball event remains in Las Vegas in May.

Unfortunately, with the sale of the venue that it was supposed to be held, the new owners didn't honor the standing contract. Of course, I'm sure Mark Griffin will pursue that where it needs to be pursued. Fortunately, he was able to secure another location for the players to hold their event. I.e, Louisville, KY, home of the Derby City Classic.

It works for me, only because I live 2 hours away and am sick of Vegas. IT will also help with the expense of the trip to Vegas, plus all of the money that I would donate to the roulette table.
I can understand the dissatisfaction of others but I am stoked about the tournament in Ky... Yeehaaa!

Louisville is a great place to move this tournament. I do like Las Vegas, but Louisville is more central & not as hot....

The accomodations at the Executive Hotel are great... even if you have to use the shuttle. Having two great events in Lousiville will be great for lots of midwest players.

Let me put in my 2 cents as well.

The Plaza in Las Vegas is under new management and they booted the event with short notice a couple months ago. It is not the fault of the BCA. With this being last minute, they were unable to find another hotel that could take on this venue last minute. Las Vegas is now the most wanted destination for trade shows, so you have to book these venues years in advance.

I don't know weather or not it is going to stay in KY, but I do know that it is much easier for the BCA since they use Diamond tables and the plant is very close to this hotel. I ASSUME that it will, because it is cost effective for them.

I did not know that they were kicked out like that. That bites! I just had my heart set on the gambling, and low prices on booze, 24hr parties, great strip clubs, and hookers.. Anything like that in KY? I will have to see if we can have cash for the airfair and just make the (what is it? like 14 hours or so from central FL) trip by car, it should be a nice time of the year with the leaves changing and all.
Maybe they can check into going to Orlando in the future, they do have one extremely large convention center here that can house anything, plus great eats near by.

I actually had family in KY, I probably still do. In Barbourville and around Corbin County. I went there a few times back before they were civilized. Talk about ma and pa kettle. But, they were nice folk (maybe thats cause they were family).

IIRC, there are a few riverboat casinos within 10 miles of Louisville.

BCA 9-Ball and US Open 1-pocket

Most of the correct info has been posted already. The event program can be downloaded from our website www.playbca.com.

There will 9-ball singles, scotch coubles, and 4 man teams. There will also be 10 ball and 10 ball ring game tournament (on 7' tables).

On 9' tables (should be 16 of 'em) we will have the US Open One Pocket - $5,000 added, with another $5,000 added if the field fills at 64. A total of $10,000 ADDED! (We have been trying to get the added money increased)

Also $3,000 added Banks (short rack) with an extra $2,000 added if the field fills at 64 - for a total of $5,000 ADDED!!!

So the ADDED money is at least $25,000 and could go to $32,000!!!

The one pocket will get done in time for any IPT players to finish the event and get to Reno for the 8-Ball event on Sept. 2nd.

Any question: please go to www.playbca.com or phone 702-719-7665.

The rooms are the same as at the Derby: $72.00 a night. Hope to see you there. Vendors are welcome.

Glad it is in Louisville.

Louisville is a better choice over Vegas for a lot of reasons. More centrally located, more local flavor in restaurants and although the Executive West is an older hotel, it means a LOT cheaper rooms. This will allow people to spend more on beer and gambling and No Doz tablets as part of the budget. Derby has been successful in part to some of these reasons. Cheaper expenses mean more people will make the trip and "contribute" to the overall purse of the event.

Oh and for PROG8R, since prostitution is legal in Nevada you pay more due to regulations and taxes imposed. So you win-win by having cheaper hookers in KY too! There you go! Git R Dun.
