I dont have the full draw but there are some great 1st round match ups.
Morris v Max Eberle
Mika V Frank hernandez
John Smidt V Daulton
The real tester is Shawn Putnam who has won the last 2 UPA sanctioned events takes on Marlon Manalo. Manalo is one hell of a strong player.
I will give Mike a call to see if he is getting the updates and i will aslo post some results and pictures on my site.

Max and Rodney!? Those are two great players on and off the table, but in the end I have to pull for Max since he's a Los Angelino now. Should be a great match.

Earl Strickland against New York's own Steve Lipsky will be interesting.

The women's bracket has been posted. I have to admit that I don't follow women's pool very closely so I can't really tell you if there's some great match ups or not. I did see a couple that I thought should be pretty good though.

Well, maybe my standards aren't as high, but I'd call all of the following incredible matches.

Marcus Chamat vs Eric Hjorleifson, Rodney Morris vs Max Eberle, Mika Immonen vs Frankie Hernandez, Charlie Williams vs Chris Szuter, Jeremy Jones vs Dave Hemmah, Thomas Engert vs Ronnie Wiseman, John Schmidt vs Shannon Daulton, Shawn Putnam vs Marlon Manalo, Satoshi Kawabata vs Robb Saez, Mike Davis vs James Baraks, George Breedlove vs Troy Frank
Unbelievable first round matchups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all, FYI, I began a separate thread on the women's pro event. All invited cordially.

If you don't come up and introduce yourself to me, you're going to suffer the wrath of one ticked of chick when we're back here on the forums! :D

I'll make a special effort to find you.

Wow Paul Potier sent Gabe Owen to the one loss side with an 11-1 demolition, if this was'nt bad enough he will face Corey Deul who lost to Germany' Andreas Roschowski 11-6. Mika beat Hernandez 11-6.

Dayum! Big names hitting the left side of the board EARLY. But, this isn't like most tourneys where quite a few short stop at best type of players get in and are usually the first to see the one loss side by the likes of Corey, and Gabe. This is an invitational...They're all good so big names are going to go left early.

Thank you, Tony. Could you answer the following yes/no questions?

Eight tables in the tournament room?
Sardo rack in use?
One ball racked on the spot?
Alternate break?
Connely tables?

That is phenomenal for Potier, the guy has always been good but not rated very high in the minds of the fans.

Matches I am really interested in and would love to watch.

Hjorfelson vs Chamat should be phenomenal. New young player who is going to be a force to reckon with for years and years.

Assuming Basavisch and Wu win it will be Danny vs Chia Chang second round, that will be phenomenal.

Schmidt vs Daulton, awesome matchup.

Those are the 3 that really catch my eye, and one of them needs both favorites to win.

I thought the same thing. I just hope Shannon is up to par. He had a pretty nasty car wreck not too terribly long ago and wasn't sure if he was going to be able to play in this event. I hope he's able to give 100% of his game out there this week.....

The answer to all 5 questions is yes
Th tables are divided 4 forthe men and 4 for the women.

Charlie Williams is the latest victim to be sent to the one loss side, Chris zuter sent him there.
Zuter another great player that owns a pool room in Ohio

Szuter is a helluva nice guy, glad to hear he won his match. Tony, thank you for the updates. It's hard enough sweating it over on the east coast as it, but sitting here waiting on brackets to be updated.... brutal!! I know I speak for quite a few people when I say thank you for your desire and dedication to keeping us updated. Good luck in your match tomorrow morning!

:)

So much for Basavich VS Wu, some other Asian Chia-Ching Kang guy gave Danny a trip to the long side in his first match (I feel like I should be saying I told ya so). Now Sutzer, Hunter and Kang are the only people in Wu's way for the next 2 matches, it looks like a decent draw all of the sudden with Williams and Basavich deciding to try out the B-side.

Wu beat Aaron Aragon 11-2, it looks like he is not feeling any sort of pressure playing in America, I was worried he may slip up due to the new environment and alternate break but now that he has got a match under his belt and pummled the guy I really think he should be watched close, if he is shooting that good noone is a good bet against him.
