Bca Sale???

I can't believe that nothing has been posted yet on the BCA ...sale. Does anyone have any info on whether Griffin was approved or not? Inquiring minds want to know.......

I would like to voice my opinion regarding the sale of the BCA.

I along with many others feel that this new so called "BCA" is a posse of good ol boys who don't want to see their personal privileges taken away by a new owner. It voices a hostle takeover from these certain people who have now have appointed themselves on to a board.

Some of the people associated with this new organization have been under question in the past regarding their methods of practice and of funds. How do we know what type of individuals are conducting this new association? Are background checks done or can anyone like these individuals just come in and form a group? In the APA before you purchase a league, there is a whole process that you must go through before you are accepted.

Our state was mentioned as a state that was participating with this but when we contacted our operator, she said that she wanted to hear what Mr. Griffin had to say before making a formal commitment.

I like playing on the Diamond tables and this seems like a vendetta against Mr. Griffin and Diamond tables. What will the "new alliance" do now? Boycott the Diamond tables? This does not seem to be a very smart move to me. Who wins in that situation? It sure is not the players. I hope that Mr. Griffin is given the chance to prove what he says.

Keith, my state was also on the list and our president basically said she was open to whatever Mark had to say too.

How can active BCA presidents go on record as forming an organization to compete with the BCA? Are they resigning from their posts as BCA presidents? Are elections open for people to step up and become presidents in these states?

Please be patient. I am at the BCA expo in Las Vegas. I have not had the time to let everyone now what is going on, however, I am hoping to have my website up and running (with a little bit of info on it) by Saturday AM.

The site is www.bcapoolleague.com

If anyone has pressing questions, please call me on my cell phone (907-351-7300). In a week or so, I will have an 800 number and all the stuff.

Mark Griffin

PS hang tough - there is some good stuff coming.

Thanks Mark!

We are ready to hear "good" things. There are a lot of avid BCA Operators and supporters who are ready to be organized into the strong organization that it should be!

I will send you a PM or give you a call with a couple of specific questions after you've had time to settle in!

Thanks

Both Bob and I wish Mark the very best for the BCA and look forward to working with him in the future.

As always before each individual league operator actually answers to the national BCA and not the state organization. Each individual LO is free to run a BCA league with or without the blessing of whatever state organization there is.

If anyone can improve the BCA league then I believe Mark Griffin can.

John

As far as I know the sale was approved.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to the rumor that John Lewis has been dismissed?

I keep on trying to access the website listed above and it keeps prompting me for a username and password. Is this a website that is restricted to BCA members only. Also I have tried contacting the BCA rep in my home town(Omaha, NE) for the last 3 weeks and I have gotten no response, any suggestions??

JJ, you live in Omaha? I grew up and went to high school in Bellevue.

I graduated from Benson High(Bellevue was for the rich when I was growing up!) and just moved back to the Benson area after I got out of the Marine Corps. Any idea on how to get into the pool scene around here? It doesnt seem like there is any kind of organized playing around here.

Bellevue was strictly a military town when I was there. My dad was 23 years active duty Air Force and we were stationed there for a few years. Unfortunately, I was not nearly as heavy into pool back then as I am now. Wish I could help you with finding something out there.
