BCA SOLD! Here's tyhe scoop... Rumor has it ( and I can confirm it to be true) that Mark Griffin of Diamond Billiards has purchased the BCA leagues. I have it from a good source that as of today, Mark is the new sold owner of the BCA leagues. In addition, nothing will change, all of the venues will stay the same. But, there will be more events added.

Mark along with Diamond Billiards and Bob and Eydie Romano are the producers of the Midwest Billiard Expo/Open www.pooltournaments.net
Diamonds is the official table of the Expo/Open that promises to be the place for ACTION, ACTION, ACTION on October 6 through 10, 2004 at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, IL.

Additional banks, one pocket events and a huge selection of tournaments are planned fore this event.

For more info contact Eydie direct at windycityopen@aol.com.

Hey, ditto that need a job Smorgass Bored. Congratulations again and thank you so much Mark. Diamond rules. Just might sell my GC4 and get a Diamond Pro.

Mark Griffin is Super guy

:D :D Mark Griffin has been involved in all aspects of pocket billiards, as a player, pool room owner, part owner of Diamond Billiards and I couldn't think of a better person if this is in fact true. Mark is a very confident, capable businessman and I hope he winds up running the men's pro tour, he would know how much better than the players who try in vain to promote the tour. Live TV contract, pari - mutuel betting would bring pool to life in the US.
Good luck Mark, you have our blessing......Gerald :p :p :p

Mark is a wonderful guy and I can assure you that nothing is going to change, it is only going to get better. Loads of exciting things are going to happen in addition to all of the BCA Vegas events.

There has been an overwhelming amount of possitive responses and best wishes in this transaction. I will personally keep you all aware of any other information as soon as I get it.

Any personal e-mails can be sent to me direct at windycityopen@aol.com I am at Super Billiards now and will not be home until Tuesday. I will then be able to answer some of the questions that I have already received VIA e-mail.

BTW, Bob placed in the top 16 out of 1026 players in the open tournament here at Valley Forge. Pretty good for a guy who dosen't play much these days.

Thanks to all of you for your support!

Eyd

I spoke to Mark for about 15 minutes on Saturday night. He said the deal is not complete yet. It still has to be approved by the board on Wednesday, but he expects that to just be a formality. I got some great comments from him, but it will have to wait til Sunday afternoon. It is late and I am going to bed.

Mike
