I own a Bear cue. Same company that sponsored Bustamante for years. Are these cues rare and of collectable interest to anyone here? Great workmanship!

Bear F/S

For anyone interested I will have pictures tomorrow. Not sure of model. Cue has never been chalked, with excellent BEM forarm.

The Bear Photos

I don't believe these are made anymore. It is a nicely crafted cue of high quality. All input is welcome. I have not decided on a price yet.

Bear cues are still made as far as I know. That particular model is from a catalog a couple of years ago, I bought a fancier one with ivory diamonds on ebony points in 2003 with about $550-600. This model costs less, probably around $400-450. Basic plain jane Bear cues start from $250-300.

And yes, they are very good production cues, very consistent quality like Schons but they don't hit as stiff as Schons. At least mine didn't. I've owned 2 Bear cues so far and always liked them very much.

Good luck with your sale.

Bear Info.

With a little research I have found out the cue is 7 to 8 years old. This is a high quality cue. They don't make them like this anymore. $525 shipped

Bear Offers?

Have recently heard Falcon has moved to China, Taiwan? Looking for offers on this perfect, new and unchalked "Bear Custom" cue.

Hello ChrisOnline,
Unfortunately Falcon have moved production to Taiwan completely now. The 2007 Falcon and Bear ranges will be produced there. Originally they were hoping to have the Bear cues produced somewhere else in North America as they're made in much smaller numbers than the Falcons and are a lot more expensive on the whole too. In the end that didn't happen, though. I think it's a real shame- not because the quality will drop off necessarily but because I associate both lines with that factory in Canada and, of course, the only reason they moved was to make bigger profits.
Just email Peter at Falcon to verify the move if you like.

Hope this helps,
Chris (Chrstc).

Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the history on Falcon/Bear. If there isn't much interest soon, think I'll hold on to this piece of their cue making past. Your right about the quality of these Bear cues, the workmanship grabs you as soon as you see one. Photos don't do them justice.
Thanks, Rodger

Hello,
Not great news is it. Strange as they (Falcon) won a lot of Canadian business awards etc early on. The lure of big $s I suppose.

Thanks,
Chris (Chrstc).
