Before & After

shiming GC1

Hi,
I have a gold crown 1 with adjustable feet that will be reassembled shortly.
Should I level the frame superstructure before I even put the state on the frame?

P.S. You do extraordinary work! A true craftsmen.
thank you for your posts.

Always level the frame first. Best of luck with your table.

Todays laminate

I refer to that as standard grade or vertical grade laminate. The laminate on the GC5 is the same thickness 1/16" as the GC1's. What's changed over the years is the paper used to make the laminate, as in it's much better today than yesterday;)

As a cabinet maker it's good to see someone offering thier customers good quality work. I admire anyone who takes pride in what they do, no matter what it may be. I've worked with plastic laminates the last 30yrs and can tell you that they DO NOT wear as they used to. The prints are much more varied and of better clarity but our goverment (EPA) has placed so many regulations on the chemical make-up of the resins that the product just doesn't wear the same as it did 30 or 40 years ago. It remains a viable product for the money however. Keep up your good work

Thank you guys, I always try to do the best I can no matter what kind of pool table it is I'm working on. And I always try and work with other table mechanics that are willing to spend some time with me learning something different:grin:
