Before The Break

This weekend I am playing in a big team tournament. We always shake hands and wish each other luck before the game, but honestly I don't wish them luck, and I bet you don't either. I am going to tell them I hope we both have our best game. Are there any things different that you say before the break other than just good luck?

-do you breathe in or out when you shoot
-hi, my name is chrisbanks
-pool shoes are a good idea
-I hate you
-I love me
-I am getting sick
-I am all out of money

I think its ok to wish somebody luck even if you don't really mean it. If you are worried just say 'let the best man win'. :)

I always use "Lets see what we can do." I am not calling them out, if anything I am in the same position. So, lets rack em and see what we can do. Ive been known to wish good luck before, but as was mentioned, I dont wish them luck! A nod and a smile might be just as effective I think.

I sometimes say, 'shoot well' or 'I hope we both shoot well'. It sort of depends on who speaks first & what is said. I have no real standard.

hold on to their hand too long, tighten my grip, look in their eyes, then bare all my teeth and go "RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I tell em "this is my chalk get your own ****ing piece of chalk". (kidding)

Just a standard "shoot well" or "shoot good".

At the beginning of a match, I sometimes wish my opponent "Good Shooting!"

I've never seen the problem with saying good luck because if I lose to luck, I didn't deserve to win in the first place. If I am going to beat them, I will beat them lucky rolls or not.

Good luck

I always say good luck at the start of a game or match. While I don't really want them to win by luck, I don't want them to lose by bad luck either, so I'm really saying, "I hope you don't have any bad luck" in a simpler way.

I've always wished them luck. I'll be updating that to Lets have fun now...

I say nothing. Maybe a head bob, maybe a smirk, maybe even a genuine smile, but never a word............gets em' thinkin................rack em' already, I not here to chit chat!!!!!!!!!!!

You lost me at "shake hands" ... I never shake hands, never. Knuckle bumps only !!

Now that flu season is hitting us hard.... I've seen others start to do the same.... I still do it year round... but that's just me, and most folks know my "method" by now....

I say good luck

I guess, just cuz it's the norm. Don't know. But I remember when a guy first said to me..."hit 'em good" and he seemed genuine...it stuck with me and still does...I can still see him saying it, and it was a year ago...I'd never heard anything like that before...true gentleman...wish I could be more like that. Will work on it.

Ah yes I to am part of the fist bump tribe, not so much for germ factor more so being left handed got tired of jerks crushing my bridge hand but I digress. I usually say "good game" or just nod
