Beginners section?

I have introduced myself in the "New Here?" section of the forum.
Is there a section of the forum dedicated to beginners, where we can ask our "dumb" questions, and get help with basics, including instructional material and such? I looked around, but such a section eludes me...

Start here. Welcome aboard. You'll get all kinds of answers. Sort them out.

Welcome!

there is no such thing as dumb questions. I know some people will have a great pleasure at telling you to use the search function but feel free to ask anything important to you about the game.

As long as you make an effort to do a "search" first of old threads, most people will be very willing to answer your questions....some of the answers will even be helpful

Welcome.... A lot of knowledgeable people here to help you with instruction on games, questions, supplies, repairs, sales.

Ask away. Avoid the nits and trolls. This is the best place for your n00b questions. We've all been there. Some people tend to forget that fact. Welcome to the forums. :)

If you go to the search function, you can search for users.

Search for all threads started by JustinB386

That should cover any questions you may have for the next 11 years.

Some things needed here:

1: Thick Skin
2: Take most of what you read here, with a grain of salt.
3: Don't argue with the experts. (They're Experts)

Welcome to the Jungle:thumbup:

OP: Welcome AZB.

Also avoid becoming a nit or troll!

You've just put yourself onto my favorite posters list. It's all downhill from here :)

Welcome!

Freddie <~~~ needs to ask dumb questions, too

I am a member of a few other fora, and it grates on me when people don't post in the appropriate sections(s), and pepper topics with inappropriate threads.
Thanks to all for your welcomes and suggestions. I will just post questions here as they come up.

Welcome.

Feel free to ask away. If you want answers to specific questions, try doing a google search, it will yield better results than the search feature on AZB.... most of the links you get in the google search will point at an article here on AZB.... strange but true. Try searches like "Three rail kicks" or "low deflection shafts" in google. Stunning.

Most of the people here are serious hardcore players. Many of whom are even ranked professionals or were many MAAAAAAANY moons ago (heh). Advice is always greeted with some form of sarcasm, but dont take it personally. Its just that almost everyone here has heard the questions a billion times before. Someone will chime in with a lucid, intelligent, and helpful answer.

Regards,

Lesh

Welcome, jamnut. Great name, by-the-way.
Don't be afraid to ask a question, but remember, asking a question around here can be a lot like praying. You don't always get the answer you want.
The search feature is kind of iffy, so better you just ask away.
You might be interested in next Tuesday night's meeting at Mr. Wilson's house. It's geared toward making the new members more comfortable while getting used to the forum.
Some of the topics discussed will be: How to recognize a troll without him knowing it; How to use sarcasm as a tool; and What's so important about cue tips. Don't be late, and bring a covered dish.

We were lead to understand that there would be punch and pie.

We were all beginners at some point. Ask away!

I've been playing for 12 years now and I still have 'dumb' questions.

'Dumb' questions are best asked on the WEB....AZ handles this admirably.
...after all, 'dumb' is the inability to speak.....so type on, J'nut.

You've found it!

Well, all in all, I'm a crappy player but I have some advice anyway. If you see a story instead of an answer from Tramp Steamer, put down your coffee or whatever your drinking. It can really F'k up your keyboard.

He writes great stuff whenever he wiggles out of that jacket.

As far as the instructional questions go, there is a separate instructors' forum which is intended to be a "you ask, they answer" sort of place.
