sorry this is so long....

I know that many of you on here know Tony Sulsar, a phenomenal pool player, and a really great guy from here in North Texas. He has been all over and many of you may have played him in one tournament or another. I thought that I would post this in several places so that hopefully everyone that knows him will see it.

Tony was diagnosed last week (at the age of 37) with Colon and Bladder Cancer. He underwent what was basically emergency surgery on Monday of this week at Wilson N Jones Hospital here in Sherman Tx, The surgery went well, his spirits are high and the prognosis looks good but he still has a tough road ahead with Chemo and Radiation therapy. . Tony is an extremely private fellow and will probably kill me for doing this but we as his friends feel compelled.

We will be having a Benefit Tournament for him on March 28th at Luke's, a pool hall here in Sherman TX (details to come)

We are hoping to have lots of stuff to auction(silent) and raffle tickets for prizes, as well as most if not all of the money from tournament entries. He does not have insurance and will be off of work for quite a while. And as you can imagine, his medical bills will be extreme. Not to mention the regular bills that will be stacking up while he is not working.

Anyone that knows Tony will tell you that this couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it (while running out the set on you :D)

We will be raffling off a few items in the "raffle" section of the Wanted/For Sale section of AZ. One item we have is a really nice Hunter Classic Cue with an I'ts George case donated by his good friend Doug Winnett(Bullshooter69). Please watch for those and if you feel inclined, help us help him by buying some spots for these items.

Also, if anyone has anything that they would like to donate to this cause.... cues, cases, accessories, or cash.. pretty much ANYTHING that would help raise some money to offset his expenses, we would be forever indebted to you.

You can contact me here or my email is john@radiovisioninc.com. A bank account has been set up in his name for this purpose and we will also have a paypal account so raffle money and donations can be made directly to him.

Just so you know 100% of everything we raise is going to Tony,

Thanks for any and all help! if you have questions about any of this, feel free to call me. My cell number is 903.821.3738 Please keep him in your prayers.

Sincerely
John Plumlee

Tony is one of the nicest guys in the world (and a hellofa pool player). I was hoping a benefit would occur because I heard he didn't have insurance.

Please tell us the paypal account as soon as you know it!

Thanks for spearheading this!

Let me know how I might be able to help while I think of things to donate/raffle, etc.

You're right, Tony is a GREAT guy and a good friend. I hope to have the paypal address soon. Ann is setting that up and getting it tied to the bank account that's been set up

thanks for everything(anything) you folks can do to help us(him) out!

regards,
John

Benefit Tournament for Tony Sulsar

> I used to see Tony a lot up this way, particularly in Memphis and Jonesboro,Ark. Back then,he traveled with his dad,and used to travel with 2 customized house cues, saying he didn't want to spend the money on a nice cue only to have it stolen, and that at that point,he never found one he liked. His house cues had upgraded ferrules and tips, and self-tapered shafts.

Him and his dad both were jam-up people. Tommy D.

Hey Lovely-Lady!!

I have just set up Tony's email account and began the PayPal set up. It will take just a bit for the PayPal to be verified. I've had my own set up for years, so I don't remember how quick they are to verify it. I'm thinking a day or so.

His email is: tsulsar.med.fund@gmail.com
and that should get you to the PayPal account once they are finished on their end.

Also, his bank account is set up so any one can deposit into it at any branch, you just won't have a balance on the reciept you get. (only trustees and Tony can look at balances and make withdrawals)

The account is at Woodforest National Bank and the account is:
T. Sulsar Medical Fund (Or "T.Sulsar Med. Fund" I don't know if it's abreviated or not) edit: the bank now says need an account number even though they orginally said they didn't. I don't feel comfortable posting that online. Send off an email to the tsulsar.med.fund@gmail.com or pm me if you need it.

Update on Mr. Man... he should be out of the hospital on Monday! He's crossing his fingers that he'll get some solid foods by tomorrow. John says he's gonna make him a burger run as soon as he has the "OK" from the docs.

He's got a long road ahead with about 6 months of chemo, but it's looking up.

I don't really know Tony personally but I'm sure he's a great guy to have friends like this who care about him so much. I will make a contribution via Paypal today but I would like to donate a copy of my book and maybe a few pool DVD's to the auction/raffle to benefit Tony. Please send the address where to mail these items to me at jayhelfert@yahoo.com

Please post a photo of Tony on here. Thanks

Hey, this guy can play. As soon as I see that ring finger curled back like that I know I'm in trouble.

In case anyone wants to see his pool accomplishments, here is a link to Tony's player profile on AZB. Aside from this, I think he placed 2nd in the 2008 BCA master's division to Justin Bergman.

He's a hell of a guy, and I'm going to try my best to go out to Luke's for this.
