Do road players call ahead to schedule a 20k match with one of the top pro in the country playing in his practice table ? I doubt that, this is not hustling. Smart guys avoid to give out any edge like tiredness, home table, etc or at least they make sure they are well-prepared. I don't know but if it's me for more than 10k I would come one day earlier and practice the shit out of that table, also get use to the poolhall environment. It's part of the job, isn't it ?
Shaw is disrespectful on so many levels. This was great for him to be humilitated like this. The way he played when behind probably lost him a stakehorse or two, who would want to invest in him after that poor showing of fight and sportsmanship.
Back to NYC with the rest of the the arrogant ones
I've only been able to watch the match in spurts, but I've noticed that while Shaw is excellent at kicking and getting the hit, they never seem very controlled. More of a "hit and hope." Is that everyone else's observation, or am I making faulty assumption based off of my small sample size?
Tell u what it's pretty cool to see all these pros here
Like who ?![]()
I agree with your assessment Jon based on what I watched on the stream last night and here in person tonight.

Your statement really reveals the poor state of billiards in America ....when you have trouble coming up with 5 solid players worth of being on the mosconi teamI will be there this year so that will be a good opportunity for me to make a better assessment. I have often wondered if it were strictly up to SVB ... who HE would choose to make the team ?
If that's true, I'll lobby for his inclusion in the hall of fame and put posters of him around my pool roomBergman missed 2 balls in a race to 80 10 ball. He should be considered![]()

I will not dispute that playing in a familiar environment can be an advantage. But I would like to point out that Justin's match with Jayson was only the second or third time he's played on that table. The other times were during the Young Guns v Old School event.
This was the first time he's had a one on one match on that table.
I would like to thank all for their interest in this event. Thank you for supporting the players by purchasing the stream.
And I would like to thank Jayson for coming to Teachers. He's a likable guy with a huge game. And a big shout out to Dan Milligan who drove 19 hrs one way to back and sponsor Jayson....saving the match.
