Beringer Pool Tables?

Good evening everyone.

I have been looking at buying a pool table for my rec room and I have seen what looks to be a nice table at Sears department store here in Canada.

It is on sale currently for 1499.00

I would like to know if anyone on the forum here has played on one or might even own one and has any opinions on it. It comes with a true Cor synthetic slate which I am not familiar with?

Here is the link to the pool table on the Sears website. Would I be able to put Simonis 860 cloth on it if I wanted to change out the cloth?

There is also a website for berringer pool tables here.

Thanks for the help folks.

I'm not sure what Cor Synthetic Slate is, but I don't like the sound of it. Get the weight on that table and then on a real slate table of the same size. I bet thear's one is very much lighter=garbage. For $1400 you should be able to find a real 7 foot or 8 foot slate table. Johnnyt

Thanks muchly Johnnyt,

I will try to track down the weight. Anyone else know these tables?

I've installed several. In my opinion, I wouldn't buy ANY pool table from a department store. I've had problems with the ones I've set up.

Keep in mind also, most mechanics won't guarantee the level on a table that doesn't have slate as the playing surface. I'd pass on that one.

That's exactly the info I was looking for.

Thanks fellas! Im going to keep looking for a better table.

My sister has one of those and I think it is a piece of junk. They are not pool players and really just bought a decoration.

neither of these tables are worth buying. The berringer maybe if its mostly furniture or if your a beginner.
