Best all around player

Would anyone take the Efren of 10 years ago (at 51) over Shane, Dennis, Alex, and Darren of today?

I think a better question is would there be a Shane, Dennis, Alex, and Darren of today without the Efren of the past.

Anyway, I don't know about age 51. At an equivalent age to each of the guys listed, I'd take Efren, except against Shane in 10-ball.

What a personal question, you know there isn't best in pool, people in the community should know this by now, there are so many consistent players but yet sometimes they lose, the scenario of the game/match itself determine who wins 80% of the time, All players can deliver if the scenario runs their way.

You saw earlier this year how Mika Immonen played in the Turning Stone tournament, he basically butchered everyone and played flawless pool, I saw his last 3 matches and how he played and I said this man is incredible, and I knew Mika can play but he was playing so good in the turning stone, things was just running his way which made him even play better, then just few weeks later did you see him in the Derby City? I know I haven't, he didn't finish high in anything, and its only few weeks apart, why do you think that is? Just think about it for a minute and try to digest this information then ask yourself, is there really a "best" in pool. by the way this Mika is just an example, there are 1000 others.

I know there isn't, all the players can play and reach certain level but then its all about circumstances and scenario of the match itself that determines who win.

I think Efren would have been the favorite in 8 ball and one pocket a few years back. But today I have no idea
