Best All-Around Production Cue for ~$1000 (Value, Playability, Durability, Support)?

Comments on Playability & Durability:
Post pictures of your cue if possible:
Cost: $35.
Value: Priceless
Durability: I have owned it since 1985, bought it used, it has been to 9 countries and 15 states with me, it still hits balls
Playability: Better than my skill level can access
Shaft(S): I think I have 7. All old school. 2 original, 2 Stroud, 1 Scruggs, a couple more that escape my memory at the moment
Weight: Varies by shaft. It has an aluminum weight bolt. Call it 19-ish
Tip(s): Vary by shaft. Leather. Round.
Wrap: Old patina (dirty) linen
Joint: Piloted 5/16x14 with stainless collar, of course.

Accessories: The original Fellini that came with it. No extension, that would be like tits on a bull.

Would love to hear from people who’ve owned or played with cues in this range for a while
I would say 40 years is "a while". I have a tremendous variety of cues now, accumulated over the last 20 years or so. Numerous in this "range". This one is still my best.

YMMV.

Agree on the US deal. If i was ordering a custom i'd go USA all the way. I have five wands currently: Jensen/Schon/Schmelke(all US), a Crical and a J&J j/b(both imports). For just a daily player i'd be looking more at price than country of origin. The reason i said Mezz is i've had a few and all were stone cold PERFECT.
Then you would have a reason to not buy American.

I'm not sure I know what a "perfect" cue is though. My Joss hits balls. I love the damn thing. It isn't perfect, it's just perfect for me.

How's about $36 will you let it go DOC?

It has not been mentioned but as long as you are in the 1000 neighborhood, do not overlook GOOD USED CUES. People seem to take care of these types of cues, but if nothing else, they hold their value better than production cues. Plain Jane Cognoscentis spring to mind but there are other used cues that can fill the bill. People take care of these types of cues, and they hold their value better than a production cue bought new.

If you go this way, seek out the advice and assistance of a "cue guy" (and do not "wear him out" if he agrees to help you). Such a person can help you in many ways, but particularly can help you to choose the cues to pursue and to locate such cues available for sale. As you might have determined from reading AZ, there is a huge underground cue market, so don't limit yourself by sticking to institutional sellers -- but be careful and do not go alone.

Setting aside fancy custom builds and expensive limited production cues, what’s the best production cue overall if you want the whole package: great value, solid playability, consistent quality, long-term durability, a design that doesn’t look too crazy, easy maintenance, good manufacturer support, and it has factory-made accessories like extensions?

Looking to spend around $1000, shaft included. Would love to hear from people who’ve owned or played with cues in this range for a while, not just what hits nice out of the box, but what holds up over years of use. You can use below template if you would like, or just shoot your comment.

I don’t know how well all the imports do on the support part of the question. There have been threads on different brands. I like CueTec as far as the import brands for playability, value, accessories etc…. As they say in football, the best ability is availability. Some of the imports seem to be less available or have stuff out of stock more often.

For support I would think Pechauer and McDermott would be up there. I like how the new Meuccis play though. Pechauer quality is great. I haven’t had to send anything to Meucci for repair. I think the new management has improved that situation from what I hear.

so for support and availability I would go with one of their American companies. Some depends on what you want as far as how they play and design.
I recently had a chance to converse with Meucci about an older unmarked sneaky with a # printed on a small piece of paper left inside the weight bolt hole.
I was surprised and impressed w the speed of their replies and knowledge of the CS Rep.
I'm not a Meucci buff, but it is good to see this happen with an icon that fell and got back up.

I have been playing Becue cues for the last 3 years, here's a link to their technology https://www.becueofficial.com/pages...taoTENgsCNxfZgYXJfapLa4Z62PV1MAYaAh7UEALw_wcB
Best hitting cue I have ever owned

I have had one since they first came out and I have three shafts for it, including the original white ones. I have two Becue cases, the extension, and the weight system.

They play very good and solid.

I think a carbon butt paired with a carbon shaft feels better and plays better than a carbon shaft on a wood butt.
