just thought i'd ask.i cast my vote for j.b justen bergman.tell me what you think.

I bet you will get many different answers.

Archer was pretty solid and at least even if not better at 19 than JB.

I don't know first hand but I would guess that Keith was likely to be one of the best at 19 as well.

Blasphemy... he's got action!

Didn't Efren say his prime was around 19-20? If that's true... he was the best.

I saw Mark Tadd put a hurt on Justin in the finals at a Pechauer stop in Boise, ID back when Mark started playing again. He did play pretty sporty though.

Keith gets my vote. At 19 he was a freak! On the bar table no one liked it against him. Ronnie Allen, Richie Florence, Joe Salazar knew they had to keep their distance with Keith around. Road players coming through town would regularly get tarred and feathered. He made a believer out of everyone.

You are right, 8BE, but Keith was doing the same thing to the world at 15 years old too. It just took many of the road runners a few years to pump up enough $$$ to make it to the coast......... Imagine,,,,,,,,,Sigel and Hubbart having the nerve to ask for weight.

I have an Accu-Stat tape of 19 year old Dennis Hatch playing Johnny Archer in the winner's bracket finals of the U.S. Open.

The first and only mistake of any kind that Hatch made in the set was jumping the cue ball off the table on the break in the last game.

If not for that he would have shot 1.000 in a race to 11.

Pretty sporty player as a 19 year old.

Mike Banks Jr.???

Isn't Mike Banks Jr. only 19 now? Young man was hittin-um pretty sporty last weekend.

I'm also jumpin on KEITH'S bandwagon....I sweated a couple of his wars with LOUIE ( big table-2 shot foul) and they were epic. Kept waiting for him to step on his dick, and to my wallets chagrin, it didn't happen. It didn't take long before I was blinded by the light...:)

I think Mike Dechaine from maine is 19 or 20, very strong player.
Beau Runningen (sp), from the Minneapolis area is around that age and he plays pretty sporty.

Beau is a few years older then 19, but you are right- he does play pretty sporty.

Dennis played great at 19 but he did not like matching up with Brian Groce at that age. Shannan Dalton played better than Justin at that age also.

Yeah, I guess time flies. Beau was probably around 17 - 18 when I lived in MN; however, that was about 2 - 3 years ago now.
