I know this has been asked before. I just couldn't find a good way to search for it. I'm looking for a good instructional book or DVD. I am not a beginner. I'm looking for a more advanced book. I have read "Play your best 8 ball" and "Play your best 9 ball" by Phil capelle and LOVED them. Any suggestions as to what I might read next? I was looking at the Phil Capelle practicing pool......

Thanks!

Phil Capelle’s books are excellent.
I have them all except for the straight pool book and have gone through them more than once.
The practice manual you are referring to is very good.
The first part of the book is all about mechanics.

Another book I would suggest is Advanced Pro Book by Henning.
Note: He also has Pro Book but I don't care for that one.

As for DVD's Encyclopedia of Pool Shots by Dr. Dave is really nice.

Merry Christmas

Thanks so much! I think I will look into the Capelle Practice book, and also maybe the Henning advanced book.

Thanks!!

i ALWAYS recommend the PAT DVD s and Books- the german guys which are beside you through the dvd are 2 absolutleyy instructors which are in my opinion world class (german and english option to choose on dvd). To work with the pattern/drill books there is no need to know german imo. PAT 1-3 are a must-have if you wanna go on with your player-lvl. (imo ^^)

p.s. and Capelles Book is really good- each cent worth

No problem, I'm interested in getting more books as well but not sure what to get next.:)

The Advanced Pro Book by Henning is really an excellent piece of work.
It takes the shooting routine apart to a level you probably have never seen before.
You also get kicking maps.
The shots themselves are just ok. Cappelle's diagrams are better in general.

The Max Eberle 3 disk set is by far the best I've seen. Max simplifies & explains things in great detail so you can actually use the stuff. Great for all level players from beginner to advanced player who might be in a stalemate or slump. This is an unsolicited testamonial.

Advanced Pool by George Fels. If you would like a copy of the article 101 Tips to Improve Your Game by George in a long ago back copy of Billiards Digest, PM me your email address.

You made a sale............:)

Mika Immonen DVDs

MASTERING POOL by Mika Immonen is OUTSTANDING and Dr-Dave is good also.

Log on to the mastering pool site for a demo and you'll see what I'm talking about!
